I’ll be sure to buy it once it’s released on the PC. No Red Ring of Death for me. Haha.

Does Forza 3 really look this good? I mean, I don’t see any aliasing at all in all the F3 screen shots. I have GT5P and it looks good graphics-wise, EXCEPT for all the jaggies and shimmering. It drives me nuts. I honestly think rfactor and the Simbin games look better than GT5P — cleaner, crisper. If F3 really looks this good, I might get an Xbox.

Yes, Forza looks this good – In photo mode.

Much like Gran Turismo, Forza’s photo mode adds post-processing effects to the shots made there to make them look this good.

The acutal driving graphics suffer from the same issues you describe, it seems to be a console-thing. Nevertheless, the graphics are excellent, especially in terms of shadows, road reflections and stuff like that.

that is gorgeous! I’ll be glad when consoles can run graphics like this at 1080p or higher without aliasing. Or when PC developers once again sell enough games to put out graphics like this. Because the PC hardware is able already.

Thats more like it, consoles hardware couldnt handle those graphics…

    They need an update.

Little correction: the R15 won Sebring, but was only 3rd at Le Mans.

Too me this game don’t look anything special at all. Like most console games it is rendered in a quite low resolution with low AA, but that’s not the bad part. What I absolutely hate about the graphics is the total absence of anisotropic filtering, it looks like it’s using bilinear filtering or something. Track textures look extremely blurry. I hope the next generation of consoles will be powerful enough too use a high amount of AA and AF.

The next confirmed car is the Jaguar XFR and the mystery car currently shown in the FM blog could be the Aston Martin LMP1.

the models are high poly but I still think the mapping looks weird, the mercedes looks like its made out of plastic or something…

and lol @ the guy saying isi games look better then gt5.

anti-aliasing doesnt suddenly make an outdated graphics engine look better then the best looking racing ever.

  • stabiz

That is true, but to me anti aliasing is almost as important as say shadows. Those jaggies drives me nuts.

  • zudthespud

They’ve released a new spy shot on the website, the popular guess seems to be the Lola Aston Martin LMP1

I think the cars are fine at that polycount, the most horrible part of Forza 3 are the cockpits. They look something made with simple box only, the textures look the same as those cheap stickers on the toy cars. The graphics engine is good, but I don’t see they have ever paid efforts in cockpit modeling and checking the cars’ accurancy(the best example of the cars’ issues: McLaren F1).
