    WoW, free of charge.

That’s not the Microsoft i know, very rare!

  • FooAtari

Thats because they no one would pay for such weak DLC

  • Jos

    iracers would

  • zudthespud

    Jos: iracers would

  • Rasmus

Cool. Especially that they do it for free. Just imagine if they’d do something like this every month, releasing a couple of new, exciting cars for download. It would prolong the game’s longevity (or whatever you call it) for a long time.
I just hope that Polyphony Digital will do the same with Gran Turismo 5.

  • 3MN5

Let’s hope they release new tracks as well.

Looks good but i’m still debating on getting this game. After seeing some videos of the cockpits imho they look rather quickly thrown together and low quality. I only drive cockpit view so i’m not sure. Shift’s cockpits seem to look 10x better.

  • NightSt@lk3r

As an owner of both shift on pc and Forza 3 on the 360, shift hasn’t even been started up since Forza 3 was released, shift looks and plays like a low budget amateur project in comparison, but then nothing anyone says or does will be enough for the elitists of the community who seem to think consoles are low powered toys, and judge all games released on consoles by the fact there released on a console therefore must be crap without even trying them first.

  • Ark

With regards to Forza3, I think it looks (and plays) like a rushed and unfinished product.

    1. The car list abounds with unfinished cockpits. Hell, the car you get at Level 50 doesn’t even have a functioning cockpit (and that’s the Peugeot 908 HDI! LOL).

    2. 8 player max online.

    3. Quite a few missing add-on components for existing cars (take a look at the CRX).

    4. Matchmaking like Halo now (different than Forza 2).

    5. Missing car animations.

    6. Non-adjustable FoV unless using that multi-screen option.’

    7. Sound sdon’t change with exhaust upgrades.

    8. Talk of cars being downgraded performance wise to make them more “balanced” online (A porsche 962c that won’t break 200mph?), while there are RX-7s that can be modified to go 250mph?

    9. Poor AI. The variation between easy-Medium to Hard is a little silly.

    10. Unrealistic setups (see above regarding a 250mph RX-7).

Shift may not be the end-all be-all of racing games, but at least it is being patched and is moddable. Forza 3 seems like it was forced out to compete with the GT5 launch (oops!). There is DLC coming while there are cars in-game that don’t even have finished cokcpits. Has T10 said anything about this? Not that I have seen.

Forza 3 is all fine and dandy on the surface, but one you start playing it and really digging in, it sort of comes across like a weak attempt at competing with GT5.

Having said all that, I do like Forza 3….however, I think it is over-hyped.

    Just my .02. :)

    +1 :sd:

since when was hyundai a car?, ok lets see shall i drive the hyundai thing or i could name any car in the game and it would be better than a hyundai key word car.

BTW shush gt fanboys above me lol your full of crap really forza doesnt have to compete with gt5 lmfao  . Rotarys could be modified to do 250, so dont dis the rotarys one with 1500hp could do it =) easily, but anyway thats just nit picking its the same thing in granturismo there totally not 100% realistic, Even if gt5 does do it all completely right they have had enough time the suckers.

  • scca1981

Hyundai used to be junk but has slowly been improving over the past few years. The Genesis is actually a decent car and they have been modifying them for various motorsports recently.

  • UncleChuckle

Disagree on the AI front. Forza’s AI is leaps and bounds better than the shitty GT AI. I’ve had some great racing with the AI.

The online side is broken however. Matchmaking is a joke and due to the class setup means you never get to race half the cars. But then online is full of assholes anyway.

I’m loving Forza. Cockpits don’t bother me as I use the hood cam. (I don’t like what cockpit view does to the sound.) Only real complaint I have is that I’m tired of racing the same circuits. (I seem to get Catalunya a lot.)

As for this DLC… HAHAHA! Of course they have to give it away. This ain’t iRacing where they’d sell you the soles of your own feet if they could.

What the hell, it’s more cars to drive.

  • ruckus

Agree with most of Ark’s points. For me the AI is crap and is ruining the game a bit for me. I’m in my first R3 class championship at medium and though I am winning races it’s a real grind (with lots of rewind). They are way to eager to just smash into me knowing that I suffer from a differnet physics model to theirs. Probably why I also enjoy the a-b point races more since there is just one nutter to contend with.

As for the free DLC,

Oh shit, another wonder tuning boy. Yeah, add to the list a 2000hp Civic engine, 5000hp Supra engine and other dynoqueen useless bullcrap. Sure, you can do it. Question is: in the game, does it cost 500.000 USD and does it last 5 minutes of driving as it does in real life?

  • Sensekhmet

About the DLC: it’s funny. I’m not bashing Hyundai as I see it as a decent affordable marque (I wouldn’t mind owning one, sure) but they have no sporty appeal AT ALL: event their V6 coupe is just an FWD cruiser. Hyundai in motorsport? Only massively modified ones that have almost nothing in common with the stock car: from WRC Accent to the new drift ‘inventions’. Hyundai pulled out of the WRC and sponsors soccer, is that telling or what? Actually, the next DLC should be Kia. At least they run Kia Picanto and Ceed racing cups in a few countries.

  • mattabater

what sensekhmet i was just saying a rotary could do 250 mph how does that make me a tuner boy?. if you dont like japas tell someone who cares because i couldnt give less of a crap seriously. i only pointed it out to that ark guy coz he seemed to be talking a whole load of crap far as im concerned.

  • JAGUAR1977

Once you top 200mph aerodynamics play a greater role than outright power, a Mazda 787B coupld top 230mph with 700bhp, but an RX-7 would need 1000bhp+ to overcome it’s brick like aero.

Aero seems to be the area Forza 3 doesn’t simulate very well.

Right..feel free to point out “all the crap” I was talking. Seriously, please point out all the untrue comments I posted. Want to know about the fastest RX-7, here you go:

    http://www.racingbeat.com/Gallery/95Bonneville.htm

Speed records on the Salt Flats……..not down Le Mans next to my Audi R10.

On a side note, stop with all the “GT Fanboy” nonsense, it’s idiotic and has no bearing on Forza 3′s issues. Being a potential fan of GT5 has nothing to do with problems present with Forza 3.

You could love GT5 (if that’s possible since it’s not out yet) or hate it….that doesn’t change the fact that Forza 3 has problems.

  • mattabater

did you actually read my first comment? jaguar1977. i said rotary with 1500 hp so what are you telling me?. but neither games have been 100% realistic in terms of aero dynamics hp and top speed, gt5 isnt even out so you cant really tell. Thats why i say it seems like nit picking. Its just a game in the end if you dont like it dont play , ive heard of things called patches if you’re really concerned about something tell the developers….

I like forza think its an allroud awesome game Gt has nothing on it well more detail in cockpits forza smokes it every where else its not even out so thats just adds to the list of things it smokes it at.

I don’t like fanboys, that’s it. Too bad most fanboys are furiously masturbating over JDM cars.
