Forza Motorsport 3 – Compact Cars On The Ring

Turn 10 has released thirty new Forza Motorsport 3 previews, showing a collection of quite powerful compact cars that will be included in the Xbox 360 racing title.

Cars shown include the Ford Focus RS, the Seat Ibiza Cupra, the Volvo C30, the Fiat Abarth 500 and others. Maybe even more interesting than the cars are the tracks they race on as the shots reveal the Spanish Circuit Catalunya and show us first previews of the Nürburgring Nordschleife in Forza 3.

Forza Motorsport 3 will bring over 400 cars and 100 tracks to the Xbox 360, the third installment of the Forza series will be released in October.

I’m hoping that NFS:Shift gets modded to hell and we really do get a pc simulation that looks like it came out in 2009.

  • sediol

Soon we’ll have one which looks even better.
    …Wait ’till september :sd:

  • http://racingrenders.com F1Racer

Damn they do look good ! I might just have to buy an XBox again.
Any decent XBox compatible wheels out there ?

Lotus Turbo Challenge on the Amiga anyone ?

    Things have moved on.

Yet we DARE to criticise :) Spoiled to hell and back :D

  • Filipe Galego

Looks great but were are the drivers??? :sd:

  • Gaiajohan

    It’s a Seat Ibiza Cupra, not a Leon…
And you forgot to mention the black Ford Fiesta ST
    Lotus Evora
    Renault Twingo Renault Sport

  • Mr. A

If you want a really good wheel for the 360 then I guess you’d have to get the Fanatec Turbo S Wheel. It’s a bit pricey, but it will also work with PC and PS3.

I’m going to play this with a regular gamepad though.

  • Gaiajohan

I only mention shots with diofferent cars, te rest must be clear

First shot: Black Seat Ibiza Cupra
    2nd: Abarth 500
3rd. Alfa Mito and Alfa Brera
6th: Ford Fiesta ST and Ford Focus RS
    10th: Lotus Evora
    12th: Renault Twingo Renault Sport
    Latest two: Volvo C30

Drivers are present in pictures 2, 3, 4, and 7. You might want to turn up the resolution on your monitor

All cars have a driver. It’s just that they wear a balck helmet. Oh and the Ford Fiesta and Focus are RHD.. Weirdly the Lotus is LHD….

    //edit
The black Renault Twingo doesn’t seem to have a driver…

  • trebor901

awesome to see the Focus RS and Corsa VXR in Forza 3

  • UncleChuckle

F1Racer: From what I’ve read you’ll be forced to use MS’s official wheel. No G25 etc…

Looking forward to this game, but am still guarded in my enthusiasm.

And has it been confirmed that NFS:Shift is going to moddable to any real degree?

  • Jos

    I like # 17, nice nordschleife shot.

Thanks a lot, I wasn’t completely sure about the Alfas and the Lotus. The Seat mistake has been corrected

  • Gaiajohan

On the last pic the red car seems to be an Opel Corsa OPC..
Pic 22 and 23, the black car is a Mazda 3?

Don’t know exactly what C30 it will be.. That badge on the front I can’t find on any pic, but I suppose it’s a C30 T5..

    Just for yer info:
    Car – engine- power
    Seat Ibiza Cupra – 1.4 TSI – 180bhp
    Abarth 500 – 1.4 16v T-jet – 135bhp
    Alfa Mito – 1.4 Turbo – 155bhp
    Alfa Brera – (I think) 1.75 Turbo – 200bhp
    Ford Fiesta ST – 1.6 Turbo – 180bhp
    Ford Focus RS – 2.5 Turbo – 305bhp
    Lotus Evora – 3.5 V6 turbo – 280bhp
    Renault Twingo RS – 1.6 (non turbo) – 133bhp
    Volvo C30 T5 – 2.5 Turbo – 230bhp
    Opel Corsa OPC – 1.6 Turbo – 192bhp
    Mazda 3 – no idea what engine…

i still think this is just good PR. If the xbox360 can crunch this quality in real time play, it would be a miracle. i will wait for an real ingame demo, and then shout something :-)

Works with all 3 platforms ? Thats pretty neat.
Yeah just checked it.. takes Clubsport and G25 pedals too. Shame the 911 GT3 RS pedals arent cross-compatible too otherwise I`d be having one.
Probably will get a GT3 after my G25 gives up anyway.

@UncleChuckle: Thanks also for the response. Dont think M$’s wheel would be a choice for me. Especially if the Fanatec one is an option.

  • fernandomattos

    I imagine this on PC…
Sim Bin has released great titles, but I think they should try give us some street car action now. They already have great tracks, but GTR EVO only added 4 street cars. They are great, but they do not match up.
I think a GTR 3 or something like that should have a good street car selection along with the FIA GTs. Test Drive Unlimited has a great variety! All those cars in a Sim Bin production would be just perfect. In my opinion that’s what is still lacking for Sim Bin to leave Forza and GT5 behind.

  • Mr. A

I’m not sure what you mean by GT3 RS pedals not being cross compatible, as they are the same clubsport pedals that you can get with the Turbo S wheel. I guess you might mean that the GT3 RS wheel is not compatible with all platforms, which is unfortunately true. If the GT3 RS wheel was compatible with all platforms then I would probably buy one instantly.

  • Sarcross

It doesn’t look that good to me, almost looks like its up to GT4 standards.

  • Jonas

One Hundred Tracks??? mmm, Fuji reverse, Maple reverse, Tsukuba reverse, Silverstone reverse….. and forty more reverse… and the penalization when u pass another car and the other car hits u… damn wish they improve those points

Than you are very positive about GT4… GT4 doesn’t offer this at all..

The GT3 is PC/PS3 only. The only one that works for the Xbox as well is the Turbo S. It’s exactly the same wheel, just a different look to it.

Screens look fab, but isn’t the ring just waaaaaay to wide at picture 23…? :weird:

  • Gaiajohan

On Google Earth the track is 8.50 meters wide at that turn. So it doesn’t seem too wide to me.

The red Alfa Brera on that screen is 1.83m wide. That means 4.6 brera’s should be able to drive next to each other.

  • EddieofSWE

    Yay, a Volvo C30!
