Formula 3 Italia F309 for rFactor 2 – First Preview

Tuttle has stopped his work on the Top Gear Test Track for rFactor 2 for now, waiting for new updates to the simulation to be released first.

To keep the hands busy, he has picked up a new car project as his plan is to bring the Dallara F309 Formula 3 Italia to the simulation, adding an entry-level open wheeler to the simulation.

Below is a first preview of the car, Tuttle is basing his model on a high-poly version he created of the car for promotional purposes (see here). The rFactor 2 version will use 90% less polygons but will still look stunning as you can see below.

The physics will be based on real telemetry data, Tuttle plans to release the car with a base livery and template, leaving it to the community painters to provide a full field of cars.

I’m loving some of the previews I’m seeing of rFactor2 projects. This looks to be topshelf. Very nice!

Pure gold, I estimate that rf2 will reach peak quality around 2014-5 when there will be lots of such high quality mods.

Why is missing the first post from ISI’s forum which describe the project or at least link to project thread on ISI’s forum?? :)

There is a lot of interesting informations.

It’s a monster sim in the works. Another fine piece of art from Tuttle btw.

I don’t have the same advice… everybody waits now Asseto Corsa release.  If Kunos does a good modding system for Asseto Corsa, Rfactor 2 is dead…

I’m never fully satisfied with a racing sim if it doesn’t include a modern F3 machine.

    Thanks, Tuttle! :)

    Which is highly unlikely though.

I will bet you a virtual tenner now that rF2 will be around and going strong long long after a certain AAA title. It will not die, stop being so dramatic Not everyone is obsessed with graphics and what are people gonna do if they want wet races, night racing etc? Don’t see any other sims offering that apart from rF2 as i have read nothing about AC having these. What about Endurance racing support, again nothing confirmed but yet another tick for rF2. See where we are going here, basically rF2 has it all and it only needs ISI to unlock the candy

In your opinion.  ;)  I don’t think that will happen.

    I don’t disagree with you there.  ;)
