Ferrari Virtual Academy 2010 – Ask Alonso & Massa

DrivingItalia will be present at the launch of Ferrari’s Virtual Academy 2010 simulator in Monza on September 9th, meeting Ferrari’s Formula One aces Fernando Alonso & Felipe Massa.

That’s your chance to ask the two F1 drivers sim-related questions, an interesting opportunity given the fact that these two have access not just to real Formula One cars but also get to use professional-grade simulators. To post your question, head over to the DrivingItalia forum by clicking here.

The Ferrari Virtual Academy 2010 will give sim racers access to a virtual version of Ferrari’s F10 Formula One car that can be driving on three laser-scanned tracks. The simulator will be available starting September 9th, selling for 15€.

I bet most of the answers will start with “For sure…”

I bet most of the answers will start with “For sure…” It’s probably a lot easier to simulate most F1 drivers than their cars.  :)

  • Firestarter

    For sure

  • crampy

    lol @ for sure

I would ask… “How will you feel when you dont make the top 100?”

  • Novum

i just wanna hear alonso say “seconde stint”

  • Piston Broke

I wonder if when you’ve recorded your slow lap time you hear a soundbite that says “Fer-Nan-Do Is Faster Than You….. Can You Confirm You Understood This Message!!!”

  • akbarfoto

    made my day :D

  • F1Racer

“yes, for me, I got de maximun from de car in de secon e stin, I don know what Felipe problem was but it allow me to go by an win de race. This was de maximun for us today”

    Too un-PC ? :)    (more x-box).

I wonder if massa wants to have flying objects in the simulator…

    ROTFL

If your team wants to get you a faster teammate, can you get them to stick with the slower teammate instead?

Not necessarily specific to this thread but…

Do we know that ALL of the tracks are laser scanned?   The website only specifically says that Mugello was laser scanned.  Reading the website in “never trust marketing scum” mode, I don’t come away convinced that Fiorano is laser scanned, and Nurbugring doesn’t have a “Making of…” section.

It may well have been mentioned somewhere else (press release?) that they were all laser scanned, but I just wanted to be sure that we weren’t just assuming they were all laser scanned because Mugello is.

  • bigmike

I would assume that ferrari already have lazer scans of fiorano and nurbergring for their own simulator, thats the  expensive part already done.  Would of thought they’d just use this….

  • AeroMechanical

Yeah, I hope so.  That would make sense.  At any rate, it would hardly be a deal-breaker if Fiorano wasn’t laser scanned, just a little disappointing.   It just seems to me that, given that they made a point of it in their discussion of Mugello, that they would in Fiorano as well.  But then, there are a lot of slight oddities in the (English) wording of the website, so I wouldn’t call this evidence that Fiorano isn’t laser scanned, just that the subject could use some official clarification.  I assume there was some information passed around, like a press release or something, that goes beyond what is in the website, but I can’t find it, and Google Translate gives me carpal tunnel of the mind.
