For the last 3-4 days the FVA site shows up like this :(

I’ve tried on two different computers, two different Internet providers, with Firefox, IE8 and Chrome. I know other guys here in Greece have the same problem. This makes the offer unusable.

    Is there an suggestion/solution?

I really recommend (to every avid simracer) to buy this simulation. Yeah, it’s only hotlapping but very well done and looking for every tenth of a second is fun and very rewarding.

  • F1Racer

    TW@’s !   They’ve done this too soon !   30% refund please.

  • Rhys Gardiner

    Seconded.

Can somebody help a stupid American out?  I’m trying to register to buy this, but it won’t let me because I don’t enter an “Address Number” on the registration page.  Even though I don’t want to enter the contest (no chance in hell of me breaking into the top, oh, 8000), I still have to enter my mailing address in order to purchase the sim.  So what is an “Address Number”, and how does it differ from the usual “Address”? (I’m not completely hopeless – I figured out the “MM/GG/AAAA” date format…)

Who knows, maybe when all tracks are sold and done they might unlock race mode :D

I’ve read about plans to release Mugello and Nurburgring tracks, in addition to the initial release which includes Fiorano, but does anyone know of any other tracks that are rumoured (or even confirmed) to get made?

Initial player reviews suggest this is a much better simulation than F1 2010, but three tracks could get very boring within months and not to mention a little pricey if I remember correctly (~10 euros per track)…

  • F1Racer

Silly question maybe, but have you tried 00 ?    Or just put 99999.   It’s not like they’re gonna write to you.

Address number is, for example, if you lived at 26 Main Street,  address number would be 26.

Let me know how you go.  If you have no luck I`ll help you out to buy it.

  • F1Racer

Dunno about plans for any more than those 3 tracks.   The physics and car model are better than F1-2010 imo.  But obviously it’s no match if you want to race more than one car or a full season :)

Hey guys! Is FVA a modding – friendly platform! Cause if its modable like Ferrari Virtual RAce, this will be awesome!

  • Wendy did what?

    Unlucky.     :D

  • F1Racer

Hehe, brilliant,  I just got an email from Ferrari and my email client junked it :)

I wonder what it says.   Probably….

    Dear FVA user,
Thank you for your recent purchase of Ferrari Virtual Academy at its full recommended retail price.
Bad news though,  we’ve already decided to drop the price by 30% and we’d like to inform you there will be no refunds.
You just got punkd.   Sorry, but we had to pay our Hockenheim fine somehow.

Dont forget to look forward to the next 2 tracks coming soon also at full price.   Buy them upon release and you’ll receive a special email from Ferrari in a couple of weeks time telling you once agian you could have saved 30%.

We hope you to enjoy our product.

Can’t say that I’ve tried, but I think it’s about as far from modding-friendly as it is possible to be.  Probably verging on modding-hostile.

Netkar Pro would be what you’re after, particularly if they role the FVA improvements into an upcoming patch, though it isn’t really modding friendly either.  It was originally supposed to be.  There was supposed to be an SDK released, but that never panned out.

There are a handful of third party tracks, but no cars.

  • Michael

Really? I was thinking “too little, too late”

Looks to be about 3000 entries on the world leaderboard. Bernie would have probably given them more money if they’d just sulked.
