Looks like the prancing horses really start to develop a liking for rFactor. Following Michael Schumacher’s rFactor-based simulator and Kimi Raikkonen’s FSONE 2007 test drive, Ferrari F1 now uses rFactor for circuit simulation videos on their homepage.
Below is the video of a full lap at Shanghai, narrated by test driver Marc Gene. The video features the Ferrari F60, a changed version of Shanghai and the TV-Style plugin. It’s unknown whether or not this is rFactor Pro or a regular version, it is pretty cool either way.
Don’t hold your breath for the “official” F60 model to be pubiclally released though, click the image below to get to the video.

I think Ferrari needs to get a new computer.

Now that i check some on-boards, the grandstands at turn 12 & 13 are mirrored perfectly with the Team China version. The people are even sitting in the exact same places on the stands.
The trackside objects on the straight after 13 also looks exactly the same

I emailed them asking if they can release the F60 but I am guessing they wont
….it looks like gene is using aids and lap time not that fast 1:38.334….the cockpit doesn’t look very impressive.

For a virtual track presentation-and probably a hastily prepared one-I like it a lot

I think your just jealous. Your poor ass can’t afford to play it. Go to college, and learn how to do something productive other than bash people on an internet blog. Because that is obviously all your sad life consists of.

Hey guys can’t we keep this stuff in the NASCAR and iracing stories?

Vkt, it really is enough now. Everybody knows you hate iRacing and NASCAR – You made your point.
Stop starting trouble in every story or I´ll have to take actions.

“And here’s where Kimi where will lose interest… And here’s where Felipe baby will break down… And the car shortly afterwards…”
I love that regarding iRacing… “Your poor ass can’t afford to play it.”
No, I just have a brain and know a huge con when I see one.
navalhawkeye: If the original poster you’re replying to has no life, what does that say about you that you took the time to reply to him? Methinks she doth protest to much.
iRacing is the Clay Davis of race sims.

What does iRacing have to do with this? Isn’t it logical they use rFactor because it’s modable and has a good Shanghai track available?
Some people really have a fixation on iRacing, unbelievable.

COME ON GUYS. Stop this rFactor/GTR2 vs iRacing flaming. It’s getting real old. Some prefer one, some prefer the other. Fine, leave it that way.
On topic: Nice to see.
I spent a couple hours yesterday racing on Shanghai with the F1 2009 RFL mod, and had a blast. So to see Ferrari using rFactor this in their presentation, it really tops it, hehe.

Is there anyway to delete VirtualR accounts? Because It’d give us a bit of peace from Vkt, however brief. It’s getting old.

who cares what vkt says, he states his opinion and you guys start crying.
Thanks for the post, this is great, gives us alot of hope for us who prefer rfactor. You can pretty much have the same simulation that the F1 guys use!
So i suppose the ISI guys probably get alot more info from real race drivers instead of turning over to the sim community for surveys

Thing is, if someone in real life expresses his opinion in the way vkt does, he usually gets his goddamn teeth knocked out. You can’t do it on the internet, banning is the only thing you can do to get rid of assholes and trolls.

If he had less teeth, he might be able to fit in with the typical NASCAR racing audience.
Let’s not pretend he’s the only one at fault here either. This is a thread concerning an application of rfactor yet the iRacing fanboys are all over this one. Letting your opinion be heard on a story, regardless if you are a fan, is one of the nice things about this website. However, it sucks when some people take their pissing match from one story to another.

Please note how I called Ferrari’s Shanghai performance exactly. Kimi stopped caring, and Felipe broke down.
Worst start to a Ferrari season in 27 years. Oh I do love seeing Ferrari and McLaren suffer.

Next year when GT5 comes out, it will include most if not all the F1 tracks and I’m sure instead of this horrible looking sim, Ferrari will either use this or SMS Ferrari Project.

@ mikem next year there is chance that rFactor 2 is released and ctdp has already announced that they are working on F1 2009 season for rFactor 2.
btw dont judge a sim by its graphics, and GT5 is far from a sim especially when it comes to F1 cars. GT5 does not have license to spa, monza, monaco, valencia, turkey, melbourne, sepang, shanghai….pretty much all the f1 tracks.
