Team LMT has released their first ever public mod for rFactor, bringing Ferrari’s F60 Formula One car and the 2009 version of the Singapore Grand Prix to the simulation.
Driven by Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen, the F60 was Ferrari’s take on the new rules introduced prior to the 2009 Formula One season. Despite being equipped with the promising KERS system, the car failed to make an impact on the world championship. Along with the car comes the 2009 version of Singapore, Formula One’s first ever night Grand Prix.
The team’s first public mod for rFactor was helped by many modders who pitched in their material, click here to visit the full credits. The mod can be downloaded below, both as all-in-one package and as single download for those who only want to download the new track.

Brilliant, absolutly brilliant.
Big thanks to LMT who have been hounded for a long time now to release a mod. Shame it’s not the full mod, but the F60 is stunning and a pleasure to drive, and we have FSONE 09 coming so can’t complain really :D
Great present for us to play with in the off-season and beyond :]

I think something is wrong with mine….lol. I have pretty much the best gaming computer you can build, and I get well over 600fps with everything on full in rFactor with a full field of cars in CTDP at FSOne’s version of Monaco. With this mod, I’m sitting by myself in the pits at FSOne Monaco with 12 fps….lol. I’m going to reinstall it, and see what it does.

If I select the default car, everything is fine.
But when I selected Massa’s car, with moving arms, worn hard tyres, a different carshape (the one with the latest wheelcaps on the front), then it crashed on track loading at every track I tried.

Good lord. I have an above-average setup and this destroys my frame rate completely. Had to turn down my settings a LOT to make it drivable.
That said, this is so far beyond the quality of any F1 mod I’ve ever played.

Hi RaYqUe,load up another mod in game, then leave the game and del the LMT_F1_Ferrari_2009 from your gamedata/vehicles folder and also del all 4 LMT_F1_Ferrari_2009 entries from your rFm folder. Then you will not see it anymore, pity you couldnt get it to run properly this is a fine bit of work.

what was this made to run with? IBM’s supercomputer?? Or maybe NASA’s Mars project supercomputers?? I bet this would crash Ferrari’s simulator back in Maranello!

Because some modders w/o permission would steal car physics, tire textures, arms, etc. Oh, none of this earth will run this properly, you need alienware lol.

Thanks..for the nice comments.. all glory to lam.alex and the lmt team and supporters…
It´s the first complete car from lam.alex .
@F1Racer.. i check it soon…thanks for the information.
@RayqUe what settings do you use? We only support DirectX9. you could try installing the mod into a clean rF lite with a new profile.
We know, that the track still has some bugs. for example the pitguy points to the wrong direction… hehe… a curb in the 2nd corner is missing… the upcoming v.1.0 of the track will contain these fixes plus it contains spectators. there is no release date for the 1.0 yet, since we are busy with other projects

I have 2 GTX295 graphic cards, EVGA 790i FTW motherboard, 8 gigs of G.Skill RipJaw ram, QX9650 Core 2 Extreme processor, 1000 watt power supply, Solid State Hard Drives, Asus Sonar sound card, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, and a Blu Ray burner. All of that is hooked up to 2x Dell 23in Ultra Sharp monitors. 1 is in the middle, and 1 is on the right in portrait mode for my tool boxes and such for 3ds Max, and Photoshop. I normally get between 550, and 600 FPS in rFactor with all my graphics on high at a 1080 resolution with 22 cars at FSOne Monaco in CTDP 2006. My computer is well above average, and has some of the best parts you can buy in it. But somehow, I get 15FPS sitting still in a test session at FSOne Monaco in this mod!
I was actually looking forward to this mod because I’m a huge Kimi Raikkonen(Not so much Ferrari tho)fan, and was hoping I could get to drive a high quality version of his 2009 F60 since FSOne 2009 isn’t close to being finished yet. Then when I went into game, I was very disappointed to see that the mod was not even drivable for me with the type of computer that I have. So for now I’m going to uninstall the mod, and hope something gets fixed if there is any more releases/updates to this mod.

At least you can load the track, im getting CTD on every track loading.
@Remus
Ofc im running the game at Dx9 with everything maxed out, 1680*1050 res, all drivers updated, C2D @ 3.2Ghz, GTX 260/216, 2 Gb ram, XP Sp2, bla bla… I dont think it has anything to do with new installation, it must the LODs, textures or something, i have never seen anything like this, and i tried tons of ilegal/legal mods, with many hi-res tex, “hdr” etc. So this is the 1st time my rF failed to me.

Firstly, i had me too a low FPS problem on Singapore 09 with F60.
I run XP SP3 32bit, direct X9, 1920×1200 on an intel dual core 3,06Ghz, 4G° Ram with Nvidia 8800GS 512M° (AAx8, anisotropic textures x16).
Secondly, i’ve set High shadows instead max shadows, and High opponents detais, instead complet opponents details, and i now have 30/40 FPS on singapore 09 with 3 AI drivers, it’s very good.
Don’t give up this incredible mod because your first computer set up don’t work.
The shadows seems to take lot of FPS, specialliy on Singapore.
Try to remove profil or intro movie or UIdata, it can works, and it worth the time you will spend setting your computer.
Hope it will help, bye…

Top Quality Mod, Top Quality Track, I have had no problems running either. The physics are incredibly challenging, and driving requres full concentration. Its very rewarding when you get used to the feel, and have to be smooth on the throttle.
I hope LMT will continue to release thier work to the wider community, as the F60 & Singapore track are both stunning. Well done LMT and Thankyou.

November 3rd, 2009 at 22:54
It’s easy to spin because the default setup is not ‘tuned’. Even by adjusting the Differential settings slightly, you can stop snap oversteer. Try putting your diff power setting upto around 25%, and the coast setting at around 30%.
To keep it simple, the higher these settings, the more the wheels will turn ‘together’ under braking/on the power, which equals greater traction/stability and straight line speed, the downside is that you cannot corner as quickly, because to corner quickly, the outside wheel needs to spin faster than the inside. (which wont be a problem at around the 25% range)
If people just took some time to read about the basics of an F1 car setup, they would have much more fun playing the game after having spent time gettin the car right for a given circuit. :]

Had to create a new profile to get the mod to load up with a track, without a crash to desktop.
Now it is working, I experience times when all disply information (HUD, rfactor car position line, rfactor framerate disply, gear indicator on car’s wheel) disappears for a long time… but then will magically come back for a while!

Huh, creating a new profile did help to me. I’ ve tried to crate a clone profile and it didn’t work, you’ll need to crate a brand new profile, however the car on spinner still spins at low fps but nevermind… Back on track it runs perfectly, no slowdowns and stuff.
I’ ve noticed a cool feature in this mod. So, when you select wet conditions for the helmet, you may see the driver actually blinking with his eyes.
Is this a new feature that we’ve never seen before in rF? Just like with Toyota’s lights effect. It’s really cool.
Take a look:

this is probably the bet mod for rfactor ever made, Ive spent years on the 2007 f1 mod becasue nothing ever came close to this as far as real feel, & the new 2009 mod f1 was a joke as far as physics were concerned… well done guys, i notices the aerodynamic settings etc were out on this car had to adjust that & lots of other things.. been on istanbul & yes the car is much slower than the 2007 mod where you can naturally do a 1.26xxx, im sure ill get the times down further… it just feels delicious ! drifting is a breeze & the physics are BANG ON… its the first time ive actually felt like felipe, ill have to improve my spanish… & my accent..

How do you do this please.
By process of elimination, I found that it was this line in my plr (which I added for xUi showroom) that was causing the mod to crash when loading tracks:
Low Detail UI=”0″
Changing the value to 1 allowed the track to load, but I am also getting only 15 FPS.
