Team LMT is working on bringing a scratch-made Ferrari F60, Ferrari’s current Formula One challenger, to rFactor and has released first previews of the car, showing a render and the car’s steering wheel.
Many followers of F1 mods know Team LMT from the screens of their league mods that float around in the community. Those mods are based on private modifications to MMG’s F1 2007 mod and are only used in league competition.
Now, the team has decided to work on something for the whole community, giving people an idea what their mods are about. Even though LMT is a close-knit team consisting only of a handful of people, the team has been able to make some stunning progress on the car.
While the main tasks have been made by the LMT team (3d lam.alex 2d DaiMOn), other modders have pitched in material as the tire textures have been made by 6e66o, the sounds will be made by Luca di Leo and CTDP staff provided some help and made the render you can check out below..

Perhaps the most photo realistic render of a Formula One car I have seen – no offense F1Racer. This is astonishing. Any word on wether they’ll only do the Ferrari or the whole F1 2009 season?

CTDP is working on a very good 2009 f1 mod. we don’t want to compete with ctdp. LMT is not able to build a scratch made mode, due to only a small number of modders. we are only a few people and the community simply overestimates our capabilities.
we are very happy about the approvals of the community and let’s see what the future brings

No offense taken :) Its a very nicely done render. Dunno how many F1 renders you’ve seen though :)
I’m not too struck on the tyres personally because I don’t like shiny rubber. But they do do that with showroom cars in real life.
The HDRI is nicely done. Thats where the main differences are between it and mine on the bodywork.

That render looks stunning. Though it’s a shame they chose to do the F60, this years Ferrari looks unexciting, aesthetically speaking. Would have loved a Brawn or Mclaren.
Anyway, thumbs up to LMT for doing this, given how egar most of us where/are to get our hands on their 2008 mod. :]

Wow, the anti-F1RFT. Where various modders and mod groups actively contribute to a single mod, and borrowed materials are used with permission.
I can’t wait to see how this stacks up with FSONE’s version.

Just speaking with Remus on msn, and I’d also like to confirm that there are no permissions issues with this mod. In the past Remus had come to MMG asking permission to modify the models for the LMT 2009 mod. Permission was granted to him when I spoke to the respective owners of the MMG models and we all agreed to support LMT. I would like to wish LMT the best of luck with what looks to be such a fantastic mod, and I am proud to be able to see MMG models being used to create yet another fantastic modern F1 mod. Bravo to the entire LMT team that has been working hard on this mod, I hope the community will enjoy it, I know I will!

Thanks a lot Petros for granting permissions. We are very happy about it and we will discuss this new option.

And on the wheel in the middle, the number 5 is wrong. It is an “S”

Nice to see MMG supporting LMT, its great when Mod teams can exist in harmony.
Hopefully this may pave the way for a full release of the LMT F12009 mod for rFactor, as this would Not be competing with CTDP because they are doing F1 2009 for rfactor2. Like Mr. Petros has said, he and all of us would enjoy a fantastic Modern F1 mod.
