I, on the other hand, had (and still have) a positive experience with these settings and I'm also using a DFGT. One just has to lower the FFB strength in-game to around 50, for example, and it works great. I'm also using medium FFB effects.

Whatever.
I'll stop this now before it will turn into a pointless flame war, but please read the name of your settings: it says FEELS REAL TO ME. It doesn't feel real to someone else and you throw tantrums.
Grow some balls. And hair on them.

I admitted to not using the right wheel. I couldn't have MISQUOTED you, because everyone saw what YOU wrote regarding your work, so these were just my -wrong- thoughts.
Your readme includes NOTHING new, save for profiler settings (most people use the same AFAIK, as do I) and steering lock in game.
And WTF is your problem, anyway? That somebody thinks your settings are crap?
Let me put this clear, because you managed to piss me off.
YES, I THINK THEY ARE CRAP AND ALMOST BROKE MY WHEEL.
I am entitled to my opinion, besides I used the wrong wheel, so in MY CASE they don't work - my own fault and I don't make a big fuss about it.
Are you 10 years old? Have I hurt you? Ruined your chance to enter the simracing hall of fame? Can't you sleep at night? Be a man and deal with it for Christ's sakes.

You basically just said my settings we're crap. You were using the wrong wheel in the first place. You did not find or follow the readme. You totally misread/misquoted what I said regarding power assistance/steering racks.

So yeah, thanks for the feedback.

First of all, change your tone, and don't even start with the 'you rubbish all my hard work' hurt emo kid talk. It tends to rile me up.
Second, I did understand your philosophy, and I still don't share it. The concept of feeding/relaying G forces through a controller is what I find weird and not to my taste. I can also argue this is not realistic, as I never felt G forces acting on me through the wheel on the cars I raced in real life, but I won't because I don't feel like getting involved into a 'bad driver/wrong car/realism vs. immersion' dispute, besides you say it's not intended to be realistic. Fine.
You asked for feedback, I gave it, said I don't like it, and you act like I offended your family or something. If you feel I disrespect your work, I'm sorry. Go for a walk, cool off and read it again.
HOWEVER, it was my mistake that I didn't mention what wheel I was using for the test, I apologize for that.

<strong><a href="#comment-23223" rel="nofollow">Sensekhmet</a></strong>:
Well, I’ve tried it with GTR Evo. Other than the lack of some effects (like kerbs) and the feeling of turning a stick in a bucket full of hardening cement I can’t feel anything special in it. It also made my wheel squeak (never heard that before) on the straights, what the hell? HOWEVER I’m a poor simracer so I’m hardly an expert… One thing I can say is I think I don’t share the creator’s philosophy. Saying things like power steering and steering racks are unrealistic is like saying flight simulators should give you the feeling of steering an aircraft with the palms of your hands in the air stream, in my opinion. You don’t drive with your hands sliding across asphalt.
Other than that the download misses the read.me file which we should read accoring to the author.

</blockquote>

LOL! I didn't know this was on Virtual R....so that's why it got so many downloads! :sd:

The wheel should not be ridiculously hard to turn at all. Maybe you missed the readme which is here on the download page. Sorry I thought everyone realised the readme is in this place. Obviously not. If you felt it was too hard to turn you should have just turned down the overall force instead of just dismissing it out of hand.

As for the squeaking, I never heard it myself. You say you are using a DFGT?? As I said before and is stated in the title and description, I made the settings with a G25 so I have no idea what they will feel like with other wheels. The DFGT is not the same wheel as a G25 so maybe take that into consideration before you try and rubbish everything I have done with misinformed comments.

ITS NOT THE SAME WHEEL.

You don't share my philosophy as you don't understand it. I never said that power steering and steering racks we're unrealistic, you either misread or totally misunderstood what I am trying to do here.

These settings are not intended to feel 100% realistic as they would do if you we're in the car. What they are meant to do is give you more realistic information about how the car is behaving. Sitting in our cockpits at home we have no sensation of G-forces or movement of the car (unless you a have a motion sim) so I feel it is important to get information relating to the mass transfer through the wheel to get the highest level of immersion possible.

Funny, that's the exact same wheel I have Sensekhmet and was about to post that I'll give them a try.

So why don't we back up our stuff and give them a try? Worst that'll happen is they wont be any good.

Though to be honest GTR-Evo, I think my FFB settings for it are fairly great.
