It will take a little longer while until Fanatec’s Porsche 911 Turbo S wheel will enrich the driving experience for both PC and console gamers and the company has used the delay to equip the upcoming wheel with a few new features.
The new wheels now comes with a USB connection cable, giving PC and Playstation 3 users the choice to either use cable or the wireless connection. The new driftmode can also be used on the consoles as no changes in the driver are necessary. And finally, the wheel now comes with ABS brake vibration both for the wheel and the Clubsport Pedals that works in all games on all platforms.
The Porsche 911 Turbo S wheel will be compatible to the PC, the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 – Being Fanatec’s only Xbox-compatible wheel and the sole interesting choice for sim racers looking to get a decent wheel for Microsoft’s console. Below is a video of Fanatec’s Thomas Jackermeier, showing off the new features with Microsoft’s upcoming Forza Motorsport 3 title.

Seems like a nice package and the fact it supports both consoles and the PC makes it a bit special for simmers who have their eyes on Forza 3 as well as GT5.
When my G25 gives up I might just take a look in this direction, particularly with those ABS-enabled clubsport pedals. Nice.

The paddles are ‘human flesh over metal endoskeleton’.

Will this be their top-of-the-line wheel for PC now?

Logitech should be worried. This looks like a hell of a set.

Agreed. Logitech’s G27 is nowhere near enough of a step up from G25. In fact with the loss of the H shifting, its probably not that much of a step up at all.
They sure have some competition on their hands now.

For American customers Logitech should be worried yes, but availability for the UK is still very bad and overall the G25 is way better value still.

Are all the Fanatec wheels compatable with PS3 , XBOX 360 and PC? I want to get the belt driven wheel. If theyre not all compatable with all consoles I will buy this one. That drift mode looks like a mode I would use all the time though.
