Fanatec Porsche 911 GT3-RS V2 – Now Available

Fanatec has just unveiled the Porsche 911 GT3-RS V2 wheel, giving their most impressive PC wheel a major upgrade.

The new version of the GT3-RS now features completely new electronics based on their Porsche 911 Turbo S wheel. Furthermore, Fanatec has addressed one of my biggest issues with the wheel and completely re-designed the shifting paddles as you can see below.

Features:

  • Full PS3 compatibility
  • 3 styles of paddle shifter included:
    Button only
    Small steel shifter
Big Clubsport Paddle Shifter made of aluminum
  • Upgradeable firmware
  • on/off switch
  • More powerful electronics for perfect calibration and precision

Advanced Tuning functions:

  • Adjustable ABS vibration for all games (PS3 and PC)
  • Adjustable deadzone (no more shaking on straigths)
  • Adjustable linearity
  • Steering angle from 90° to 900° in 10° steps
  • Adjusstable drift mode

The new wheel is available now, selling for 179,95 Euros/US-Dollars for the single wheel or 319,95 Euros/US-Dollars including the Clubsport Pedals.

Existing owners of the old GT3-RS can also take advantage of the improvements as Fanatec is offering an upgrade kit for 40 Euros/US-Dollars.

Upgrading your wheel requires quite some technical skills though so inexperienced users may take advantage of Fanatec’s upgrade service for an additional 30 Euros/US-Dollars plus shipping costs. More info on how to get your wheel upgraded can be found here.

I almost bought the GT3 RS. I’ll just have to get the improved one :sd:

So what’s the point of the Turbo S now that this seems to have the essential features? I’ve always liked the looks of this one more anyway.

The Turbo S wheel has more features like:
    Xbox360 compatibility
    illuminated buttons
Wireless connection to console / PC

I really like the look of the GT3 RS wheel but I don’t dare buy one due to the reliability issues. Way to many failures and returns documented on the iRacing forums with the wheel. Maybe with this new model those issues have been addressed but I don’t want to be the first one with this new batch. Logitech doesn’t seem to have the issues so I will stick with what works. That being said..I hope at some point to be getting a GT3RS and Clubsport pedals.

Can you combine the two Fanatec Porsche wheel shifters on one set of tubes? That way changing from sequential to H-Pattern would only be a matter of unplugging a cable and plugging it back in.

Also would it be possible to use both simultaneously? This way the sequential could at least be a handbrake?

  • http://www.911wheel.com Fanatec

It is not possible to operate both shifters simultaneously. Not sure if you can mount both but they are not desgined to work like that.

Having recently bought the GT3-RS, this news came as a bit of a downer for me. :(

Thankfully Fanatec in their wisdom have this upgrade kit which I intend to take full advantage of. Nice !

Im just waiting for the cheaper Fanatec wheel to be available.

  • Tortue G

    It’s a good news that GT3RS v1 owners (like me ;) …) can upgrade to V2!

    Thanks for that!

    The improvements sound good!

fanatec: would it also be possible to make the g25 or g27 shifter compatible with this wheel?

  • felipe

hopefully someday Fanatec will ship to Brazil :ooo:

  • http://www.911wheel.com Fanatec

    Jos:
This is not possible and actually I don’t see a big demand for it. I am not saying that our shifters are perfect but there are not many people saying that there are much better shifters in this price range.

    Felipe:
No good news so far. Our potential distributor believes there is not enough interest.

    hey fanatec:

what about selling to latin america in general?, you can use your distributor from US, mid and high end wheels as logitech or even saitek are very pricy in latin america anyway, almost double the price you pay in the us, maybe it wont be a terrible idea, the extra shipping handleing and taxes could not be that high.

Will this wheel work on the PC version of Richard Burns Rally and the PS3 NFS Shift ?

I totally love the Clubpedals and with this wheel it’s seems like a great combo !

  • http://www.911wheel.com Fanatec

It will work great with these games and all others!

  • magicaldog

Is it true that Fanatec are developing a new type of handbrake that could be used with the Porsche GT3-RS V2 ?

If so I know I’m definitely interested !

  • magicaldog

Wonder what the shipping time to Sweden would be if I order the Porsche GT3-RS V2 Clubpedals Edition ?, and does it come with that nice ALCANTARA leather too?

  • magicaldog

I’ve been reading a lot about the Fanatec Porsche 911 Turbo S Wheel and now I’m a bit confused which one should I get?

    Porsche 911 GT3-RS V2 or Porsche 911 Turbo S

I want the best Fanatec for my PC and PS3

    Help !

  • http://www.911wheel.com Fanatec

If you do not need Xbox 360 compatibility then The 911 Gt3RS V2 Clubsport edition is the best you can get.

OK that’s great and it got a better price as well.
Now all I need is a handbrake for my rally games!
When is that going to be available?
