Fanatec CSL Seat – Introduction Video

A few days ago, I posted a first story on Fanatec’s new upcoming CSL Seat. In the meantime, Fanatec has released a little introduction video of the new hardware.

Made of lightweight materials, the seat is fully adjustable and will come with changeable seat covers. The CSL seat is equipped to not just work with Fanatec’s own product line of wheels but also with competitor products from Thrustmaster and Fanatec.

The new seat sells for 299 Euros/Dollars, Fanatec expects first shipments to be available starting December 14.

Watchful observers can also see the brand new CubSport Shifter in the video below, the next of Fanatec’s  hardware products to be introduced.

In related Fanatec news, a new firmware is available for the Porsche 911 GT 3 & Turbo S wheels here.

It looks comfortable and sturdy, but I wish it had some kind of monitor stand. Also, it looks like it would be cheap to ship which is the most critical point on a rig for me.

Most important thing in that video is Clubsport shifter :)

I’m thinking of buying one of these, but having difficulty with the position of the monitor. I like to place it close to the steering wheel. Any ideas?

Correction…GT3RS is not included in the FW update, yet:

“We have a new firmware version for all Porsche 911 GT2 and Turbo S wheels (Xbox versions)”

“We will release 756 for CSR, CSR E and PWGT3RS within the next weeks.”

I have my 3 monitors wall mounted, I just take one of them and extend it as far away from the wall as possible and press my current playseat cockpit up against my desk. I won’t be worrying about monitor/tv positioning as much as I will be pondering whether I should invest in this new cockpit or not. I really like it but the playseat is so much more common that there’s so many mods n work around a for almost any setup and any problem i might have.
