Last year, F1RFT 2008 was the first Formula One mod to be released for rFactor, causing quite a stir in the community. While the philosophy of releasing something quick instead of shooting for perfect quality has found many friends, the F1RFT guys seem to take their time this year. The F1 season is well underway and still we haven’t seen any previews until now.
Below are the first renders of the 2009 version of the mod, showing the Red Bull RB5 and the Toro Rosso STR4.

Nice renders, I must say. I like the textures used for the wheels. The whole thing seems very shiny though.
It’ll be a tough competition, with both CTDP, FSOne and F1RFT working on the 2009 season, if I’m correct..?

Yes you are correct.
PS: I seems that the rear of the sidepors looks somehow wrong. Maybe it’s just me. On the whole it looks like a huge impovement on RTF’s 2008 effort.

The reason why the 2009 mod is being developed so is the work they’ve done on their 2004 mod, I think.

Let’s hope they’ll keep it legal this time.

Well if 3 different mod groups are concentrating on make the same 2009 F1 cars we might end up with at least one good mod.
On the otherhand…
Why don’t they work together???
Have a mod out in a 3rd of the time, with a quality 3 times as good.

I think it wont be good if all three work together perhaps if FSONE joins CTDP that could help, cause they can learn from CTDP and they can be quicker. But F1RFT is not one of the big modding groups cause its famous for the illegal releases in the past and im not sure if they became legal cause when you watch rfactorcentral.com they are acting still like in the past with spamming the website. So they keep acting like being illegal.
