F1 Classics by Mak Corp – First Beta Released

Mak Corp has released a first beta of their ambitious F1 Classics mod project for rFactor 2.

The F1 Classics mod will bring cars from several Formula One seasons to rFactor 2, including the 90s, 80s and some vintage cars from early F1 seasons.

The first beta includes two cars, the Ford-powered Mclaren MP4/8 from the 1993 F1 season as well as its successor, the Peugeot-powered MP4/9.

Also included are different tire compounds as well as rain tires, chassis flex is being simulated as well, using rF2′s latest tech.

Oh my this is gonna be good

  • Anonymous

Ya Mak Corp. has been kicken butt on getting material out for rF2

  • Chris Wright

Certainly a welcome addition to the proceedings. Kind of a shame, though, that the biggest rF2 Christmas pressie is likely to come from a third party. But then, I guess, we still have a couple days for the BTCC Honda to surface. That should be good stuff.

I’m still holding out hope for Prototype C to surface on Christmas Eve…

Nice mod, but hopefully engine sounds are temporary as they don’t blend properly and are a bit off.

  • Harry Tulloch

Mak-corp do better stuff than isi anyway

  • Cosimo

    Ehm, not so fast there…

  • Olivier Prenten

Indeed Mak is doing great job! ISI is a bit stuck at the moment! I don’t know exactly what’s going on?

  • Realkman666

If the Group C and this end up as good as the F3, ya.

They suffer from LFS syndrome get a little money and go sit on a beach until brokeness arrives again.

  • Kev

Dude how on Earth can you be playing rF2 with all the constant gushing over AC? Shouldn’t you be playing that? Also you and others take every opportunity to bash rF2 even when a story is not about rF2. Then you come over to rF2 threads with disingenuous ‘respect’ for the team only as an opening to criticize the development process when you know won’t get an answer or roadmap.

  • Daniel Gomez

Beautiful mod…, both cars feel different, with the monster torque of Peugeot engine. Excelent and demanding handling, but all slides are catcheable.

A Lambo engine for the 1993 testbed car would be nice too.

Regarding the models, something is odd about them, aren’t the tyres TOO big?

  • Chris Wright

And a Merry Christmas to you too. Seriously I don’t see where I’m bashing rF2 at all. If you read my posts correctly, you’ll see that I have said AC isn’t perfect either. I reminded myself only yesterday that rF2 has been out since original beta for almost two years. I therefore stand by my assertion that a roadmap statement would be extremely useful, whether ISI chooses to do it or not.

Nice feel, really enjoyed the cars.

  • Kev

I may owe you an apology, then, as I may be confusing you with others. I will say (not to you specifically) that it would be nice for this community to allow one piece of good rF2 news. Don’t get me wrong. I know that is not going to happen. But that doesn’t change the fact that it would be nice. It also doesn’t change the fact that it deserves to be called out when it doesn’t happen.

  • Chris Wright

No probs at all. You’re more than entitled to defend rF2, because I would totally agree that it gets a harder time than it deserves. What is so frustrating is that it’s so close to being the best sim out there, but falls a little short in a few important places, I believe due to any apparent clarity of purpose from the developer. They badly need to share that with us, as they must know where they’re headed. Put it another way and I’ll say here and now that if AC can match rF2′s AI it will be doing very well indeed. I want nothing more in this hobby than for rF2 to be all it can. Happy Holidays!

  • abater1994

Will it be released at any rf1?

  • Michael Hornbuckle

    edit..

  • http://www.mak-corp.com.au/ MAKCorp

It was announced for rF1 too so yes it is planned to be. :)

  • abater1994

    thank you for reply
I am looking forward to it. :)

  • Kendra Jacobs

Bring the brake power way down in the setup because we dont have 250 pounds of modulation pedals to control the brakes, after you do thst these things are some of the best cars ive driven in any sim some issues here n there but overall its intense and just awesome. Dont understand how people csn complain about rf2 unless maybe they cant drive.

  • Noel Hibbard

They are hardly taking a break. They were doing tests sessions from their homes at 10PM at night almost every night and working through weekends trying to get build 382 out before the holidays. Take your BS somewhere else.

  • Anonymous

What’s wrong you can’t take a harmless joke? Your really bent out of shape over this? Your reply seems like BS to me. Don’t like it? let me know I got something for DAT.

  • Noel Hibbard

It’s insulting to those that are working hard to bring you new and improved stuff. My post was factual, your post was not. In other words, your post was BS, not mine.

  • Anonymous

I think your overall attitude might just fit under the BS category. If I was trolling I might expect a reply like yours but this was not the case and the majority saw my post as joking or kidding around. So anyway how are you gonna spend that ISI Christmas bonus you received? Oh you didn’t get one? Didn’t think so!

  • Noel Hibbard

I saw your attempt at being funny and if it were true (that they are taking a break) I would have laughed with you. I just found it offensive and inaccurate. If you find my attitude pore because I was offended by your attempt to be funny then so be it. Not sure what your on about in regards to a bonus.

Reading your other posts it does seem you aren’t a troll. I probably came on too strong with the “BS” part. This place is full of trolls and that comment you made sort of fell into the troll category. Sorry to lump you in with them.

  • Anonymous

the actual model seems to be an odd size…at least going by the pictures. http://www.motorstown.com/images/mclaren-ford-05.jpg

  • Kev

Without a doubt many comments will be from people who can’t drive but think they can. Similarly, an sim that reinforces their delusion about their abilities will no doubt be ‘brilliant’.

  • Ludvig Nilsson

How do you get this beta to run? The game crashes every time the track has loaded. I installed the mod from the modmanager after putting the file into “Packages”. Im new to rfactor2 so, have i missed anything?
