F1 2013 for rFactor 2 – Red Bull & Mercedes Previews

F1Ligue continues their rapid progress on their Formula One 2013 mod for rFactor 2 as several new renders have been released.

The six new renders show off the brand new Red Bull & Mercedes Grand Prix cars as seen during pre-season testing.

The team has very ambitious goals as the mod is planned to be out in March, right in time for the start of the 2013 Formula One season.

The guy who put the purple on the Red Bull cars quite clearly was out his mind. Sooooooo ugly. Just all blends in to one mass of crap. (Not talking about the mod, but the real car)

  • Fredrik Lundvall

Agree with you!! I think it’s the Infiniti-sponsorship but i’ve never associated infiniti with purple…Looking forward to this mod tough!!

While everyone seem to focus on the liveries, I just want to applaud the modeling, well done!

Nevertheless, Infiniti are getting attention, mission accomplished :D

I would love to say something nice about this, but I cant think of any.

  • pascal lallala

    bullshit speed modeling,
come on guys, just spend at least one month in car modeling (alot freetime) or 3month (with reallife)
do it, but do it right

Why are ppl so full of negative comments about somebody else his/hers work? It’s not like they force u to play this. It will be free I suppose so I really don’t see the problem. I think I will have more fun woth this mod compared to F1 2012.

Out of curiosity, would people rather have Mod A or Mod B:

Mod A: Uses 2011 or 2012 car models in a 2013 mod. Accurately reflects the different characteristics of the 2013 F1 cars per team.

Mod B: Uses 2013 car models in a 2013 mod. Modestly reflects the F1 cars of 2013 but they could be 2012 car characteristics for all we know.

I would think people would choose Mod A. That being said, as nobody really knows how these cars will handle until Melbourne, how can this modding group release a mod where performance characteristics aren’t yet known…

you are not happy? do not download the mod.

Make it yourself or buy F1 2013 Codemasters.

  • http://www.facebook.com/nicolasnavarrocruz Nicolas Navarro

    We do as we do.

The mod is for F1Ligue and people who want to have it.

We oblige anyone to follow us on the site f1ligue here on virtualr or on twitter.

If you are there is that final if you are interested in as you posteriez not.

Because people are free to have an opinion. However when there is a negative opinion that suddenly doesnt exist anymore.

Like said people are entitled to their opinion, and most of those are negative. If you dont want a (negative) opinion, then either dont make anything, or dont post anything about it.

Not trying to offend anyone, it’s just the way it is.

I do wanne say to people who dont do this themself(modding) they should leave there judgement end try themself. Myself i model and i do note some parts that i think that needs work. But you guys seem very hars while you dont do it yourself…

Do it because u like to do it. Let al the haters just be and just enjoy your work and let others who want to have fun be part of it.

I know it is in our culture to give your opinion about everything but sometimes it can be to much. The guys who are working on this mod are just want to have fun and they want others to be a part of that. They don’t say they are the best they don’t ask alot of $$ and then f*ck it up like Codemasters does. They having fun that’s all. Why can’t you see that side of the story. Makes life alot easier.

Tip for redbull you can do something in photoshop to let there come a clow over a part and then use that to get that purple out. I dont remember how but i know i did it ones xD

  • http://www.facebook.com/wesley.modderkolk Wesley Modderkolk

Sure we can all see that, but in what way does that disallow a negative opinion?

Like you said “sometimes it can be too much.”, well guess what, that is only the case when the opinion is negative.

Instead of being stubborn and say how the negative opinions have no right because “it is free and they do it for fun” you could also note the overal negative opinion, and use it to improve, too bad that never happens.

Negative opinion isnt there without reason, it is there because there is something wrong, or the suggestion is there. So when an overall opinion is negative you can easily state it is crap. I dont see how “it is free” or “they do it for fun.” Is any reason to neglect negative opinion and release bad stuff.

A bit of a double standard here, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but only the positive ones are ‘right’, but a negative comments is a ‘everyone complains.’

Surely if you compare that too each other then a positive opinion is just from a poster ‘who cannot give any criticism’, where a negative one is ‘complaining’.

Either deal with both positive as well as negative opinions or dont allow opinions at all, not this in between bull. And if these negative opinions are so much of a ‘problem’ then improve your stuff so that the negative opinions go away, because they are there with a reason.

I love how quick these guys are working, and I love how they aim to get the mod out at the start of the season unlike Codemasters and their end of season release.

I’m not following. To clarify, though, my response was to those who criticized the models as being quickly thrown together as if missing a few front wing endplate designs or an extra fin here and there is anything you’d ever notice while driving.

That being said, if I were to answer my own question, I’d rather drive Mod A.

  • http://www.facebook.com/wesley.modderkolk Wesley Modderkolk

Take a look at the Mercedes rear wing and say that again. Also take a look at the Ferrari rear wing and say that again. It is not because the details are wrong, it is because proportions are wrong. With the Ferrari rear wing a prime example of this.

“Like you said “sometimes it can be too much.”, well guess what, that is only the case when the opinion is negative.”

Well thats not true. When there is too much positive opinion you are labelled a ‘fanboy’ or some other immature name.

Negative opinion is fine but SamuelKorthof is right, it can get too much. Complaining over every little thing. There’s no live and let live any more. Take these guys for example, they just want to quickly put together a mod for the 2013 season. That’s all. It’s not a commercial game, just something they want to do.
Yet it’s getting bashed on for every detail and for what ? To satisfy a sim-racers need for 100% accuracy in everything ? Why do you always have to have that ?
They might make a decent job of the mod physics wise and they may not. Either way, no-one is being forced to play it, download it or even spend any time looking for faults. You don’t get points for finding things wrong on a wing, a kerb colour or an advertising board.

  • http://racingrenders.com/ F1Racer

    Then why bother ?

  • http://racingrenders.com/ F1Racer

Nobody wants negative opinion. But it doesn’t mean everything should stop getting made. I think that’s a silly argument. If it did, all the shops would be empty, as would our sim-racing lives (well, more empty).

Here’s a quote on opinions that some might do well to remember:-
“You have the right to an opinion. You do not have the right to have that opinion agreed with, respected, taken seriously or even heard.”

  • http://www.redlinesimracers.net/ George RSR

    Looks good

  • Richard Hessels

A negative opinion, but writen with respect is more valueable than 10 people just saying.. nice..
It’s good for the ego, but does not make the product better.

  • Pablo Coronel

I dont know if this is the case but in their support its dificult to model something without blueprints and with just reference pictures, you need both for acurate modeling, all this in the case if you dont have a big mf 3d scanner and the car.
Also one thing is this model in rf2 engine, imagine the same model in AC engine.

  • http://racingrenders.com/ F1Racer

You’re right, but that only works providing the negative opinion has value in the first place. I’ve seen some that don’t and it’s as if people want, or even demand, things br altered to their personal taste as opposed to whats good for the modder.
If I was a modder, I would do the work to make me happy and satisfied. If that happens to please others, then thats a bonus.
But I would work to my own standards and not other peoples. Especially if what I’m giving away is free.

I am the person you see everyday live, the person who spends almost 10 hours a day to meet deadlines are March.

Now, if someone is able to make a mod for the month of March which is better than mine on the RF2 that I do like it stops working.

Us, which output a mod in March last 5 years?

    f1ligue and only us. (F1MG – F1RL) is us.

Me if a person is able to do as well as I PcModel and in the same time I sign immediately and stops doing it every year.

I wanted to express myself, now I’ll let you fight over the size of the fin, the color of the screw is not good etc etc etc … I will continue my job because nobody will take my place.

You will like all the world, you will download a conversion Codemaster your rfactor or play with. or you wait until September to buy you the official game in 2013.

As I said earlier, I do it for my pleasure, my league and for people who are happy for me to do and offers.

    peace, love and rock

PS: sorry for my bad English, I’m just a little French.

OK, I’ll say it again. You won’t notice that the front wing is different when you can’t see it from the cockpit. You won’t notice the rear wing being different when you’re in the cockpit. When you occasionally use the “look back” button for 1 second are you going to be checking out what the guy behind you is doing or measuring the rear wing dimensions?

  • Anonymous

this models are made following the FIA technical regulation 2013 which is a pdf that can be downloaded for free, so we follow all the dimensions figuring in regulation all the rest is made from the very good pistures in HD of F1 grand prix.it, obviously I am not able to scan the cars so the mistakes can exist, also we work in natural scale and it helps to make it better. Our goal is to have this mod running for Melbourne because the ligue is racing every grand prix, the same day and so we have a lot of work to do to that goal.
