F1 2012 – Patch 7 Available

Codemasters continue to release patches for their F1 2012 title that was released back in September.

Patch 7 brings improved voice communications and a bunch of other fixes as listed below:

• Added two new options for PC users to improve voice communications.
1. Added a Push To Talk option. This can be turned on in the Audio Options (My F1 -> Audio) and is bound to T by default. The key used can be edited in My F1 -> Driving Controls -> View / Customise Profile.
2. Added a Disable All Voice Comms option. This can be turned on in the Audio Options (My F1 -> Audio) and will disable all outgoing and incoming voice communication.
• Fixed an issue where the track could become wet without any rain being visible.
• Rebalanced engine wear so it will go below 99% during a season.

PC users can obtain the patch by updating the game through Steam.

Console users still have to wait a little longer as a big Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 patch is in the works, combining all PC updates that have been released during the past few weeks.

The developers aren’t done with patching the PC version yet though as Codemasters are still working on fixing other issues.

to be fair, they have a very strict deadline. they are down to small stuff already?

I wouldn’t expect much else after a patch as minor/superficial as this one.

  • Peter Bone

Im half tempted to sue them for their name. They obviously are NOT Codemasters, they are anything BUT masters.

      you read it wrong.

      It’s electronic masters of cod……..Cod-eMasters

haha, prereleasebigmouthmasters. Thats all. Just like with any other games they screwed.

    • Jos

      Patchmasters then? 🙂

At least they’re patching guys, everyone bitched at them for not releasing patches last time, now they’re bitching that they’re fixing things!

But it could be different people complaining.

Assuming gamers represent a cross-section of society, why shouldn’t we expect all sorts of opposing opinion?

PC is beta-test for console patches? 😀 And a good thing too.

Any idea if the demo has been updated? I don’t suppose it has. I’m interested to try the patched “physics” (the original demo was awful – and consoles are still stuck with it?)

Well, each patch hasn’t broken anything else for me, so I guess I’m just glad to get these incremental fixes and improvements in a more timely manner ;:) (good riddance to GFWL garbage).

They have NO choice but to patch their unfinished product, if they didn’t, that would be three F1 titles broken, and no one would buy the fourth, again they had NO choice.

      • http://twitter.com/StuartBecktell Stuart Becktell

They didn’t patch the previous two, so its a step in the right direction.

It’s THEIR product as you said, so they do have the choice to leave it as it is, should they want it. And unfortunately, they will always have people buying their next game no matter how many bugs there are in the previous ones. Why ? Because they monopolize the F1 licence, so they always will find customers.
After two F1 titles broken that Codemasters did not even care about, people are still buying the third that’s still bugged. What makes you think that they won’t buy F1 2013 if 2012 was not patched ?

I ditched PC and bought it on console this time… *facepalm*

Wasn’t half bad for something meant to be relatively casual.

Must admit I felt the same way but once I saw the amount of mods and patches available for PC I took the plunge and paid my money a third time. 2 gigs worth of mods later and the game is really good fun and astonishing to look at. Kudos to the PC community once more for saving yet another Codemasters title. If you have this game on console then….well….unlucky.

Where do you get those mods from?

I can’t try the game with a steering wheel as I don’t have it here with me, but at least with a XBox 360 pad is not bad. It still crashes to often, but I enjoy it (especially considering whay I paid for it, 12,60€: definitely worth the price).
