F1 2012 – Cover Art Revealed

Codemasters have revealed the cover art of their upcoming F1 2012 title.

Unlike their past F1 2010 & F1 2011 titles, the new version comes with unique cover art for each platform as the covers display four different Formula One cars.

F1 2012 will bring all cars and drivers of the current Formula One World Championship season to the PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The title is due to be released in September.

Personally, I think the cover arts of 2010 and 2011 were much better, but that’s just my opinion.

agreed.  at least this cover compliments the game in terms of how much effort has gone into it.

At least now there is color and the actual cars on the cover although I’d prefer a higher angle so more of the car was shown. Still won’t buy it due to being a fool for the past 2 years, and it’s not about it not being a sim, it is about it being very glitchy/buggy/temperamental and CM doing nothing.

Good and clean. Among a shelf of other titles, this will stand out.

There is that I suppose, but I dunno, I just get this feeling I could have rendered something better.  Oh well, makes no odds to me as I won’t be a paying customer.

You should pay. They need our support.

I bought the last two and they’ve barely had a weeks play each.  F1-2012 will be just the same only with updated cars/tracks/rules and some GUI changes.
Maybe they`ll even use a physics guy for the duration of development this time.
Regardless, they could have all the support of every sim-racer and the money would just to to line their pockets, not stimulate them to delve into the more hardcore sim side of things.
F1 licences will always be mass market to cover the cost of the licence.  So an officially licensed F1-sim is as likely as finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

I’m counting on it being the same fundamental game as the previous two…

You won’t be let down then.  Unfortunately that numb, unfeeling feedback coupled with dodgy physics and that annoying thing where the car sounds like its over-revving out of every low-mid speed corner, just doesn’t do it for me.

Crammond got the idea spot on.  Make it a proper sim and let the driver aids dumb the game down for different driving levels which would allow the masses to handle the cars.   That way also allows those who use driver aids to improve their skills.
If CM did that, they’d likely still get the sales figures and they’d probably rope in the purist sim-racers too.
All those years ago and Crammond knew exactly what he was doing and GP4 has features in it that sims today are implementing for the first time.

If each separate art is for a different platform you’d think they’d change the PC logo in the top corner…

  • pez2k .

Very crafty, all twelve constructors feature on the cover via the 4 variations.

pretty lame if you aske me :)

You people are slagging off the boxart because you don’t like the game? c’mon. The variation to get all the cars in is cool, and did you ever look at the Race07 and GTRevo boxart? Hardly more exciting.
