F1 2011 vs. F1 2012 – Video Comparison

The guys over at MotoGamesTV have made a very interesting comparison video of Codemasters’ F1 series.

The video shows the PC version of both F1 2011 and the recently-released F1 2012 side by side as we get to see a lap around Suzuka.

They`re some noticeable differences in graphics as the lighting and reflections have changed quite a bit between the two versions with the audio also having received an overhaul.

Which version do you prefer?

Ehm..DRS isn’t on the steeringwheel on the Ferrari anymore. Its next to the breakpaddle these days. Nice comparison BTW.

No more reddish hue on the 2012 version !
Great, as Codies were ABUSING that effect in almost all their games. Glad they’re sober-er.
Doesn’t change the fact I won’t play that series : for some serious F1 driving, there are great mods for old trusted sims or iRacing…

What we need is some good rallying :) (and I don’t mean DiRT 4 :D)

Did you say good rallying??? nothing beats Richard Burns Rally… Be warned, after playing RBR, you’ll never touch another racing game again.

I miss the tire scaling from F1 2011. This video doesn’t show that. :)

Bought it…regret it..feels like I´am in the movie Groundhogday. Stutters, jitters, no FFB, steering problems…

Is it just me or do the physics from 2011 look more realistic than 2012? I haven’t yet tried 2012, but just going on simple wheel motions and accel/decel rates… 2011 seems at least more realistic, however unrealistic it may be. Maybe 2012 is more entertaining though due to the physics… I guess I will see.
