F1 2009 for GTR Evolution – Released

Following the release of the GTR2 version, PO911 has now released a GTR Evolution conversion of F1LIGUE’s Formula One 2009 mod for rFactor.

The mod includes all cars of the current season in a semi-fictional fashion as not all carshapes are completely correct for the sake of a quick release. The GTR Evolution version has its own physics made by PO911.

Below are some screenshots of the rFactor version, giving you an idea of what to expect.

    Is it decent, or are we better off waiting for the inevitable 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc patches all these F1 mods seem to require?

    I have downloaded it. Seems it has included 1.3 with KERS, but I can’t get it work on my RACE 07 … :neutral:

    I can’t seem to get kers to work either. The ‘cars’ are very, very twitchy too. Still it good to see the cheating teams not win – only in my races though!

    in which folder did you do all those datas?
    my race07 crashed after unpacking to D:/steamapps/my_acc/race07 :X
    or which folder I have to do in which folder in race07?

    or do I just have to extract the complete mod into race07?
    need help please :)

    “not all carshapes are completely correct for the sake of a quick release.” It really sickens me that there are still mod teams out there who rush a mod like this one just for the sake of being first to release a 2009 F1 mod, they should be ashamed.

    I have the same problem as some of our coleagues: GTRE crashes after installing this mod. I have the online steam version, and dont’ know what to do to get it work again… I’ve installed it into the steamapps directory as well. If anyone could assist I’d appreciate! Thank you!

    I had the same problem, i deleted the file named ‘wtcc_ui.mnu’ that was placed in the UIData folder. Don’t know what it does excactly, but it helped :happy:

    Furthermore, I know ut was a rush job, but the arms of the drivers come out of the cockpit when you turn the wheel fully, could this be fixt plz… it looks very silly.
    I hope you guys make a better quality later on, cuz i quite like the mod. THX!

    Actually, it’s a 2009 mod used for league racing, normally those mods stay private, but this one got released for other people who want it.

    It’s funny that people have this much interest towards a crappy mod like that :D. Don’t you have any patience?

    If you don’t like the mod, just remove it. Yeah – this one seems really not ready for prime time just yet.

    To make for easy addition/updating/removal of mods, I use separate JSGME installations for each of my games and sims. It works very well at limiting the active mods as well as allowing me an easy path to check out any mod, tweak, or other change before deciding to keep it or toss it.

    That way, an iffy mod like this one is easily checked out and then zapped out of the way without potentially messing up anything else.

    Can’t do multiple installs on Steam though. Sucks really. I have 3 GTR2 installs.

    What I tend to do is create a RAR archive of my sim installation, then install a mod. If it breaks everything, simple nuke the directory and unarchive the backup.

    All I get is errors due to file name length exceeding 260 charaters…. can anyone help me with a work around on this issue… Thanks! :question:

    but I’ve heard that Hong Kong and China have been banned on Megaupload :sad: and I and my friends can’t download files from Megaupload,
    can you plz plz plz upload it to anywhere else?

    So I downloaded this mod and have been driving different cars for a couple hours. I think it is very well done both visually and dynamically. However, I have a few suggestions for fixes for future releases. I am not complaining, just trying to help. 1) The mirrors are mapped backward in relation to other cars moving behind the player’s car. 2) When driving from a realistic point if view (very low in the cockpit) the arms block the view when turning near full lock. 3) I don’t know if this happens to anyone else but when in open practice the only AI cars loaded are 4 BMW Sauber cars, yeah I said 4. It repeats randomly but always loads 4 BMWs and no other AI cars. 4) Graphically, the black square flat “side splitters” protruding from the side pods? Can they be adjusted? They look a little big is all. 5) How do I adjust the gear ratio for 7th gear? The game doesn’t support 7 gears so in the settings screen there is no way to adjust it.
    That’s all. Overall I think it’s an excellent job.

    I figured out the adjusting 7th gear and the file “wtcc_ui.mnu” are related. That file causes the game to CTD and allows you to add a seventh and final drive adjustments.
    Here is what I found out about it loading only the BMW as AI cars. When you go to the track it forces the car filter to lock out all other cars except for the BMW. I tried to run a race and got my car and 19 BMW Sauber cars. I haven’t tried it with other classes yet to see if this mod affects them yet.
