F1 2008 by Mak Corp – New In-Game Previews

Mak Corp has released a new batch of previews of their Formula One 2008 for rFactor 2.

The in-game previews show untouched shots of the Ferrari F2008 and the Toyota TF108 on track. Several aspects of the cars such as reflections and tire textures are still work in progress as the team is still busy exploring the possibilities of the new platform.

Originally planned for rFactor, the team has decided to release the mod for rFactor 2, the mod will come with unique dry & wet physics for each car as well as individual sounds for each vehicle.

    vaporware

Anyone can tell that this was written just to spark the fire…

  • Koen Calleyl

VirtualR has a moderator to extinguish eventual fires. But maybe we should start a bet about whether this will be released or not. I wonder how many “this will be vaporware”-attendants will still have the guts to bet against ;)

No ? But your comment could, please don’t…

No Rhys is right.  They wouldn’t be reacting this way if it was any other group so, a fair warning, anything I see as conspiratorial will be deleted.

Or maybe we shouldn’t Koen.  It seems clear to me that this IS being worked on and pushed out for rF2.  Heck, I’ve even just done the renders for the Red Bull for it.  The work is definitely being put in.
If anyone genuinely thinks they know better about the eventual release of this mod than the group themselves, let them post here with evidence.  Otherwise, inflammatory comments will be taken a dim view of.
Names will be going in my little black book :)

I hope I don’t need to handhold people here and feel like I have to babysit MAK threads because some people have a resentment towards them just for the sake of it.  Given the known history of comments in MAK/MMG related threads, I will be stricter here than anywhere else.

NM, I think I missed the point :)

So you will just ignore any reasoning behind my statement and replace it with your own ideas. Cool.

You didn’t make a statement George.  It was a 1 word patronising comment.  Not cool.
If you want to diplomatically put forward a statement and a reason then by all means do it.

it is great that you are moderating the forums but I hope you don’t take it so far as not to allow any negative comments too.

I hope MAK can finally release something as they do seam very prone to announing a lot of stuff but delivering little. I hope they do release this mod as promised as the 2008 season was one of the best.

definition of criticism = to pay out on some 1 to make your self feel good
getting back to the MOD…. looks good cant wait to give it a go

Are you saying that negative comments are a good thing ?

Look, it’s not what you say, it’s how you say it.  Disagreeing and debating is all fine if it’s done the right way. There are ways to express opinions that might not be positive.  It doesn’t have to be condescending, patronising, personal or insulting.
If people take a little care in how they write things and realise that who they are writing to has feelings too, then you won’t even know a moderator is even here.

As for the 2008 mod, I would think that since we’ve recently seen screenshots, renders and now more cars in-game, it’s a fair assessment that there is movement on it.
Maybe it’s time for the past to be the past and give them a chance to prove themselves on this one.  What is there to lose ?
