F1 1999 by F1-S-R – Ferrari Preview Video

The F1-S-R modding team is working on a variety of historic Formula One mods for rFactor, including the 1985, 1991 & 1993 seasons. Below is the newest preview video of another one of their projects – The 1999 F1 season.

The last season of the past century was a rather exciting one, seeing Ireland’s Eddie Irvine competing for the World Championship title against reigning champion Mika Häkkinen, following Michael Schumacher’s brutal crash at Silverstone that robbed him of all title chances.

    I don’t normally criticise stuff but as much as I’m looking forward to this mod, this video seemed a waste of time. Most of it was start/end titles and the middle bit was the Ferrari exiting the pits in slow-mo then taking a corner.
    Why bother ? A screenshot would have been as useful, really.

    Anyway, as I said, looking forward to this one.

    Relax, man. I was teasing you, I know what you meant, I took it out of context, it was a joke.

    I too am looking forward to this mod. Some of the best sounding engines in history come from this period in F1, and if this replicates them well I’ll enjoy it to no end.

    I really hated when grooved tyres were introduced to F1 in 98. So much so I can’t really play any F1 game or mod based on 98 – 08.

    Our only excuse is we got a bit spooked, the 99 mod has always been our baby, and we intend to see it out through to the finish, it deserves to shine.
