F1 1997 WCP 1.0 – Released

Posted on May 2nd, 2009 in

WCP and Watchy have released their Formula One 1997 mod for rFactor, bringing an intense Formula One season to the simulation.

The 1 gigabyte package includes all cars and drivers of the 1997 season, including non-tobacco skins, physics and sounds for all cars and more.

Due to the fact that the models used for this mod have been converted from older releases, the mod isn’t top notch when it comes to eye-candy but well worth a try for F1 fanatics.

1997 was Michael Schumacher’s second year at Ferrari and Jacques Villeneuve’s second in Formula One. The championship battle between the two drivers was decided at the last round of the season in Jerez, including a controversial incident involving both drivers.

It’s allright… They should’ve included some high-res textures to compromise for the car-shapes. The sounds are great and the physics are decent.

Tried it out last night for a while and the force feedback wanted to pull the car to the right for a while…..then to the left. I don’t know if it’s an incompatibility with LeoFFB plugin or what but it’s no fun to drive like that. It has potential, maybe after a patch or two.

I was never much of a F1 follower, I guess that shows

For some reason it screws up my spotter plug-in. Other than that it’s not bad. The cockpits needs more work.

alll cars are using same physics, too much grip, and downforce, bad gear ratios for ais, the chassis is too igh, and the helmet too low.
i did fifferent physics for each car, different engines, lowered the chassis, corrected the ffb problem, riased the helmets, and deccreased the downforce and grip. if anyone is interested contact me yapupdop@hotmail.com
