F1 1991 by F1-S-R – Historical Edition Coming on Sunday

F1-S-R has announced that the much-anticipated historical edition of their Formula One 1991 is due to be released this Sunday.

Following up on the league edition with spec physics released back in January 2009, the Historical Version comes with unique physics for every single car model and lots of other improvements.

    I explained this a bunch of times, there’s no such thing as “overhyped titles/mods” on VirtualR, I simply post what’s available.

    Teams that release more material get more coverage while teams that choose to work more quietly are naturally less covered. It’s as simple as that…

    Again I would like to add something here… This mod will not be for the Average rFactor Driver..
    many will find the physics tyring.. However if you are a serious Sim racer you will very much enjoy what is going to be offered..  If you do find the Physics hard to drive I would recommend starting with the Ferrari or the Jordan cars as they are well ballanced machines.. Enjoy lads..

    Lol they put Lotus F1 Racing’s logo in the video. That team didn’t even exist until 2009 :D. Don’t confuse it with the original Team Lotus.

    Sounds like a great mod. I probably won’t get my new set of pedals before this releases which is a downer, since I would have ran at least 100 laps on various circuits on release day! Reading the fairly detailed manual, I’m very excited for it.

    Not at all.. Meaning set ups will take lots of time and effort.. These cars get faster and faster as you drive.. Grip levels are set like Real life.. Tyres compounds and types have real drop off curves.. Again like i said realistic.

    in some cases… there are 4 options for gear selection methods..

    I can’t remember if this was the mod with the sounds that weren’t completed in the league version. It had all the samples in folders, only 2 sfx files were done for every engine at the time.

    The sound of this release cannot be compared to the League Edition. Not at all… :)

    Thanks man. I understand it has full manual simulation of the authentic gearbox. I’ll like that. :-D
    I can’t wait to drive the beautiful Jordan like that.

    I see. Can you guys at least make the default setup SAFE, (so easy to drive)  and leave the player to work it out to make it faster.

    They are fairly safe.. however everyones driving style is different.. and that is really reflected in this mod..

    as one of the beta testers,and 7 years in sim racing if you understand
    what adjustments do and mean to the car you will be fine,if you dont understand
    what changes to the cars setup do, then you will find it harder than those that do.

    You said the easiest cars to drive are the Ferrari and Jordan . What about the WIllimas ? isn’t that as easy to drive ?

    I would like to add the Dallara as a very balanced car. Really compelled car, which was the reason why it scored rather well back then. Plus Letho was a great, great driver in the early 90′s, perhaps his peak before his accident in the Benny in 94 where he lost some edge.
