F1 1975 Beta – Released

Posted on March 4th, 2010 in

[VtCl] tatinos has released a first beta of his rFactor conversion of Team CREW’s Formula One 1975 mod for F1 Challenge.

The beta already includes all cars of the 1975 season and comes with two sets of physics, one with realistic values and one that allows easier handling for those having problems keeping these beasts on the road.

Originally released for F1 Challenge by Team CREW, the mod brings all the action of the 1975 F1 season to rFactor, featuring legendary drivers such as Emerson Fittipaldi, Carlos Reutemann, Jacky Ickx and Niki Lauda.

Important: The beta requires rFactor to be run with graphic settings on “High”

Good work but I’m not good at open-wheeler .. can’t get used to formulas

Some versions of the 75 mods has the 6wheel P34, does this one have?

The mod have his own LE physics.

The patch is only to use more accesible physics. Is an option, not mandatory.

Works very good with the RealFeel plugin.

The mod physics are well done for a beta, but need a little bit more work to be historically accurate (less powerful engine, 5-sp gearbox, etc.).
In example the lap times with this mod in the Kyalamy79 track are in 1:14s., while qualifying times back in 1975 were in 1:16s.

Anyway, for a beta it’s a top quality work – models look good, physics and FFB feel great.
Keep up the good work, guys!

I get a lot of error messages (most of them including the word “mesh”) when I try to load a track. I know my graphics should run on HIGH settings, and I’ve adjusted my options as such, still it won’t load properly.

Too bad, it looks like a great mod and I love these cars.

Same thing for me….missing meshes after changing to high display settings.

Enjoying the physics but… The sounds seem wrong? They SOUND great, but the engine notes don’t match the RPM at all… Just taking a Cosworth for example and comparing it to GP79, this car’s running at (according to the tach) 16,000 rpm but it sounds like about 8000 rpm… I’m constantly sitting on the rev limiter and shifting too late because the engine barely sounds like it’s come off idle! :weird:

    Try graphics on full

There is no ‘full’ setting, but there is ‘ultra’, and that worked, so thanks!!!

Models look excellent. Incredible job and beautiful cars.
    Suspension looks decent.

The issue is: 977KG ? 512KW ?, looks like a Porsche 935 physics instead of 70’s F1, or maybe a Grand Am car

    (Extracted from HDV)
    Mass= 977.10 // all mass except fuel 976kg for Rolex 24hr. then 1010 after that.(+75 lbs)
    ???????

I think it could it be better done to start from the figures of a non GE 1979 car (like E177) and build from there.
But these figures are far from being realistic.
