F1 1971 Mod for rFactor – First Preview Video

Reuteman, SlimJim & ChiefWiggum have released a first preview video of their Formula One 1971 project, showing various cars on the Nordschleife and at Mid-Ohio.

The guys have received permission from Team CREW to convert their hugely-popular F1 Challenge mod to rFactor. The mod won’t just be a straight conversion though as the team is equipping the cars with new high-detail cockpits, suspensions and graphics.

Wow those slides look so natural the physics look dammed fine on this one this will be a mod to enjoy

  • Victor_RO

Hmmm… I think the sounds need a bit of a makeover, all the cars seem to sound the same now, V8 or V12. And that sound on the onboard from the Tyrrell is definitely not the growl of a DFV.

  • Alan Sutton

wow nice ! , very promising indeed.

  • KastaRules

Looking great! But I agree with Victor_RO about the sound…

I know there’s nothing modders can do about it, but I hope in rF2 we can see some more ‘lively’ suspension movement. See a bump, feel a bump, like iRacing basically.

Simply bueatiful….. I’d much rather be tooling around in one of those than this crap they call F1 today.

As for the sounds, that’s not a problem.

  • Rhys

Powersliding out of corners… THIS is F1. :D

I am patiently awaiting the release of this mod…

If Renato did the physics it would be friggin awesome :)

  • FS

Really looking forward to this one! I’m also happy with the modders doing it, I am sure that this will be one of my most driven mods!

  • FS

By the way, is there an official webpage/forum for this project?

  • JGoenR

    Nice preview!

Mauricio (Reutemann) is working extremely hard to maximize the detail of the suspensions within the limits of gMotor…

They paid attention to the rearview mirrors of the Ferrari when it is pursued by the Tyrrell?

 Come on baby, a little more ‘slipstream’! Yeehaw!! I love it.
