There is a small typo on the page, it’s Jackie Stewart.

Looks like a fun mod :)

  • Dale

I’ve had quite a good time with this mod. It’s definitely high-quality.

Try it with the new 1970 Nordschliefe.

  • Rantam

I’m wondering why a F1 mod includes sounds from cars like the Alpine Renault A110, Ford Capri, Ferrari GTB4 and other GT cars, coming from Historic GT & Touring cars mod by the way.

I haven’t really understood how this F1 classic guys work anyway..

  • Big Ron

Good video. When I watched the first 30 seconds of the video, I thought the next few momenta I will hear the Baywatch Theme.

  • Mauricio Leiva

    and you???
    What is your work???

    only criticism?

    Sure, it’s much easier …

  • Nick

Rantam is one of the most important members of HistorX Staff.

If sounds of another mod was used on F1, it must to be asked before to original authors, or event reflected on credits.

  • Uff

    @Mauricio:

    lol
This is indeed an epic fail: try to inform yourself better on who you’re talking to, next time. ;)

  • Slimjim

sounds.. History X… by wolferl….BRM sounds by Nil
sorry but i did forget to add this in the read me… as it is the same as the 67 mod sounds with permision.. and also Wolferl is doing the new sounds for the mod..

i know i’m a target.. and i should have remembered to finish the readme after the Beta..
but when you got 100 things going on at once with only 3 members on the team.. sometimes for forget shit.

I don’t usually go for phrases like ‘epic fail’ but in this case it fits perfectly.   When he said ‘What is your work???’ I just cringed :)

All right, but apart from the sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?

  • Mauricio Leiva

do you know if the permissions were asked??

  • Mauricio Leiva

I know Rantman. The problem with this, is the way of saying things …
Sure my English dont`help and not take things the way that i want to express.

The Experimented people that make mods, often believed to be on top, and miss the beginning….
Another way of says the things, would have been better …

Firefox: you need a website to laugh? This is very sad ….

  • Mauricio Leiva

Obviously, I ask for excuses to rantman.
    My English don`t help

  • F1lover

Guys please read the credits.. Wolferl did the sounds.. He is at the moment the best sound engineer out there. Many modding teams are requesting his work, because of its high quality.
before you make accusations you guys should really read the credit notes. Wolderl Sounds are HIS sounds.. Other modding teams use them with his permission of course. =-X

  • Anon.

“I haven’t really understood how this F1 classic guys work anyway..”
The same as you do: using stuff from other games/mods… with permission of course…

  • F1lover

    LMAO!!
    thanks Big Ron.

  • Rantam

    @Mauricio

No need to apologize. Frankly, I don’t see why you should know my name. And I’m being serious about it. I’m not a guru of any kind despite I know some things about modding after some years on it and some community members know what i do. Not sure why you think I’m someone who has forgotten his beginnings but frankly I’ve read a lot of bad things about me and my modding contributions, so I’m not going to ask why you said that.

Had to admit that reading what Knackko wrote (not once byt three times) of we not releasing anything but just previes made me laugh a lot, and in a healthy way, believe me. That was a nice shot :)

So that question you did is fair. And as it has been already answered by Nick on first place (thanks) I’ll tell you why i wrote that, but before, read again what i wrote and you’ll see that I didn’t wrote any critic about the mod, basically because i haven’t tested it.

I was just wondering why these sounds, which come from the mod we created (HistorX team) ended in the sounds folder of this F1 mod for two reasons:

    A) as far as i knew (note the past verb’s mode) no permission were asked for that. Yes, now at RFC you can see that sounds are Wolfer’s but in the credits I got with the mod it only says “Sounds… TBA” and somewhere else i read that Wolferl will do the sounds in the future version.

    B) don’t understand how the sounds of these GTs can be used to mimic the sounds of these old F1. But that’s just a my personal thoughts, and as i don’t know the result of such use as I haven’t tested this mod that’s why i wrote “I’m wondering… “.

BUT I don’t have anything else to say regarding this mod now, or at least until i find time to give it a try :) because:

    A) Sounds’ permission issues have been cleared.
    B) People seem to find the sounds fine enough no matter if they’re driving a F1 but hearing the roar of a GT.

About my last phrase “I haven’t really understood how this F1 classic guys work anyway..”:

@Anon, i think that despite we do use stuff comming from GTL, in my oppinion the way we do things doesn’t have anything to do with the way things seem to be done at F1-Classic.

And if you have already visited their forum probably you have noticed what I’m talking about. If not, you may have better things to do that trying to find out :)

Anyway, I won’t write more about that here because I’m already in contact with Slimjim and have already shared my thoughts about that with him and talked about these sounds, which in the other hand doesn’t have anything to do with me but with Wolferl.

So please, let’s go back to topic as i guess the comments should be about the mod itself.

    Regards

  • Claudio Zini

Simply amazing, this mod came to my hall of fame alongside F1 1979 and Historic GT. For me the main factor is always the physics of the cars, what this mod is to be congratulated. Another thing that made the difference is a detail that all the other mods should copy: the sounds of the tires skid. Excellent, very realistic and helps you to discover the very limit of the car.
Congratulations on your dedication and time spent to bring us this piece of racing history.

  • Der_KHAN

according to townsend bell tiresqueal is not very realistic because you don’t even hear it. even in an open wheeler.

  • Sebastiaan Hulsman
