Endurance Series – Peugeot 908 HDi-FAP Unveiled

Right in time for tomorrow’s Le Mans 24 Hours race, Endurancers have unveiled the final addition to the Service Pack 1 for their Endurance Series rFactor mod – The Peugeot 908 HDi-FAP.

Debuted in 2007, the Peugeot 908 HDi-FAP is powered by a 5.5 liter V12 Bi-Turbo Diesel engine. Showing massive speed right from the get-go, the car has become the dominant performer in the LMP1 class, winning the Le Mans 24 Hours, the Sebring 12 Hours and the Petit Le Mans. Four 908 will be starting tomorrow’s Le Mans 24 Hour race from the first two rows as the French squad is looking to clinch back to back wins at La Sarthe.

Below are fourteen previews of the car for you to enjoy, showing the Diesel prototype in various liveries and specifications from the past three sports car seasons.

The first service pack will be introducing several new models to Endurance Series, including the Peugeot 908 and Audi R10 diesel sports cars, the Acura ARX-01 & Porsche RS Spyder Evo LMP2 challengers, the Saleen S7R and the Ferrari F430.

i’m NOT a diesel fan BUT, this car is really beautiful! πŸ˜€ thanks for these beautiful screens! Can’t wait to SP1!!

  • Tensor

    hell yeah!
    all cars done?
    just release it! ^^

  • zudthespud

It’s looking amazing as usual Enduracers, it’s torture! I needs it!

  • Tensor

i hope they convert their mod as fast as possible to rFactor 2. when i see the middle picture in the second row, that just looks so 90’s. just unworthy for such a mod.

lol here is mid/late 90’s: http://www.forceforgood.co.uk/screenshots/F1972.jpg That’s the actual resolution it was played in too.

  • intelpower

any news regarding tire physics ?

that game is formula 1 for ps1 and was released around 1996. end of 90’s was almost ps2, which was released at the beginning of 2000. have a look at gran turismo 3.

  • JGoenR

Finally! The Peugeots! Thank you Enduracers for this great car. πŸ˜€

    Actually that’s on PC.

So when you say 90’s, you mean early 00’s, I get what you mean.

just accept that rFactor’s gfx is outdated by about 10 years

Tensor: just accept that rFactor’s gfx is outdated by about 10 years

    No, just no.

The graphics are perhaps 3-4 years out of date, but considering the game was released in 2007 that’s to be expected. A lot of the newer mods look very good, and the new tracks look good too. The PS2 came out in 2001, along with GT3 and this looks better when its all on low than GT3 does. Maxed with 32xAA its not a bad looking game, especially with the performance you can get.

  • Tensor

nice try. but rFactor was released in 2005 and was even then not very modern in terms of gfx.

  • ZombieJim

A release at the start of the race?

  • http://www.racedepartment.com TehFuzzi0n

Tensor: nice try. but rFactor was released in 2005 and was even then not very modern in terms of gfx.

My mistake, I mixed up the latest patch release date and the actual. That all said the last patched added a lot of features which modders are making use of.

By pointing out that fact you’ve only further made your point invalid though as for a 2005 game it looks excellent. FEAR was released in 2005 and that looks better – but its an FPS… not a sim.

Its at least as good as any other racing game released in the past 5 years. The only games that really beat it are DiRT2 and iRacing. Considering DiRT2 is all about the graphics and that’s about it its not surprising at all. iRacing is obviously better, being released 3 years later.

  • Mitos

Great news! The most important & awaited announcement… THX 113908.

  • dknine

oh man i feel sp1 is comming soon, i hope :sd: :sd:
stunning job on the peugeot enduracers! 😎

  • RJC_pt

Nice to de the car in its to versions :sd:
Will we se the low downforce front to?

  • Uff

But its engine is still based on Nascar 2003, as far as I’m aware: that proves that you can have great results even with an old engine, if you pay the right attention to light, textures and shaders. πŸ˜‰

  • Razze

Yeah Uff, if we just get out the engine whats possible, we see a great graphic that does not look like an 10 year old game.
Just look what a Friend and I get out of these Tracks with modeling and texturing:

And there is much more possible with features not known yet for the community!

Physics engine was originally n2k3 based (not much is still that code, but the Graphics engine was re-written for iracing.

  • scca1981

Yeah “based on” and “is” are two very different things. Iracing is fantastic maxed out and much better than any gmotor2 sim in the graphics department(physics are up to you i’m not gonna argue that). I love the cockpit shadows.

As far as the gmotor2 games… They weren’t groundbreaking in the graphics department when they were released and obviously aren’t now. While modders have put out some great content the sims are still showing heavily their age. To some graphics don’t matter. To me however I didn’t put together a nice gaming rig to not use it. So I look forward to rf2 and “GTR3”. There is nothing wrong with great graphics paired with great physics and the graphics ARE important as they can add a lot to the immersion factor.

  • Loetkoe

HDi-FAP is such a twisted name

  • sigmatc24

This looks really nice. I hope we can get in touch with this awesome mod soon :sd:

  • Bjorn

They should release it just around 24 – 01 o’ clock… That’s where the transmission from 60 – 70% of the cameras around the track is halted… That’s where it gets difficult to stay awake – then it would be awesome with some great cars to run in rFactor until the sun comes up and the transmission from those cameras is returning :sd:

  • Howie47

No Ford GT40? It’s presently running first in GT1. You can watch on Speed, live streaming.

  • http://nightstalk3r.ath.cx [email protected]

    Thats a Ford GT.

  • scca1981

Yeah i’ve seen many people get that wrong. There is no Ford GT40 anymore. Its only Ford GT πŸ™‚

  • Shum94

    Their mod isnt 2010 ^^

Ask the Audi R15 plus while you’re at it ^^

  • Deano

Does the Pug puke flames out of the Turbo like this years version??? πŸ˜†

  • gpfan

Add the corvette GT2 in SP1….. You have already the model, you need only physics……

  • Mitos

Deano: Does the Pug puke flames out of the Turbo like this years version???

…and audi to lose for three seconds on lap… as it always happens.
