Team DTM for rFactor has released a bunch of new previews of their DTM 1993 project. After showing us first renders of the Alfa 155, we now get a first peek at the Mercedes Benz 190E, Alfa’s main challenger for the title.
The mod will include the full 1993 DTM season, back when the German Touring Car series had almost nothing in common with today’s DTM. The series was made up of two classes, accommodating both factory efforts and privateers. In Class 1, the factory teams of Alfa and Mercedes battled head to head in extreme racing machines that were equipped with state of the art technology.
Class 2 allowed privateers to race a variety of cars, from BWM M3s to exotics like the Ford Mustang. The exciting package was wrapped up with a series schedule that incorporated regular road courses, street circuits and airfield tracks – Even including the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife.
