DRM Revival for AC – Kremer 935 K3 Renders

The DRM Modding Team has released new previews of their much-anticipated DRM Revival mod for Assetto Corsa.

The DRM Modding Team has released new previews of their much-anticipated DRM Revival mod for Assetto Corsa.

The new previews show off first renders of Kremer’s take on the successful Porsche 935, the K3. The German race car is the mod’s first to be specifically-created for the Assetto Corsa version of the mod.

Based on Germany’s hugely popular Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft series that had its heyday in the late 70s and early 80s, the DRM Revival mod features iconic Group 5 racers such as the Porsche 935, the Ford Zakspeed Capri, the BMW 2002 Turbo and others.

A moment of silence for all of the hours i am going to kill when this pack finally arrives next year.

    • http://racingrenders.com/ F1Racer

      You and me both 🙂

    • http://dj0100.com/ 0100

      Yes can’t wait!

    • noroardanto

Yes the waiting is killing me 😀

  • CombatSanta_pDm

    Can’t wait for this mod…!

  • Jukka Karppinen

    Wow, looks awesome already!

  • Herr Igor

Can’t help but think that this mod would be a better fit to rFactor 2. But it’s probably going to be awesome anyways.

    • http://racingrenders.com/ F1Racer

I’m glad DRM is just coming to a new platform. It’s going to look so nice in AC and hopefully will drive just as good.
I do admit though that I’d love to see DRM hit the rF2 platform also. Maybe they will consider such a thing after the initial AC release.
rF2 might not be as easy to mod for but the benefits will be worthwhile I think.

    • Brownninja97 .

two reasons i can find of, first is that the team had a massive falling out with the rfactor community and secondly graphics simply because it can greatly help with job prospects, AC makes the models look better hence the modellers are more likely to impress a dev. In all honesty its gonna be one hell of a mod regardless of the platform, all the current sims have very nice physics and thats what matters.

      • maranello55

‘massive falling our with the rfactor community’? LOL

      • Brownninja97 .

it was due to the whole “lets convert the literal hell” out of the models, then some rfactor guys started altering the models and physics because they could and the members that i had a chat with just got fed up

      • http://racingrenders.com/ F1Racer

But the whole rF community didn’t rip the mod, just a group of unethical so-called modders.
It’s unfair to blame or punish the entire community, not least to ‘fall out’ with them, for the actions of a few unscrupulous people.

      • Brownninja97 .

sadly thats how it always is. lets use another example, the pcmasterrace fad, see how they alienate people from our community. Its that weird concept of the fools making more of a ruckas then the respectable people in a group.

      • maranello55

        few guys…not all

      • maranello55

        some….not all

    • maranello55

Neah…itll be better in rf2. ALL mods that have AC and rf2 version have the rf2 leading the way by milesss….

u guys can look at nice graphics….me in rf2 bz with driving haha

  • canamracer

Awesome, this car is long overdue, the most important group 5 car in my opinion.

  • pillerjong

This for rFactor 2…but HistoX Mod will hopefully comming rFactor 2 . rFactor 2 is the better Sim

    • http://racingrenders.com/ F1Racer

Lets not do the ‘which is better’ thing. It’s been done to death for years and is very subjective and based on many different variables.

    • Brownninja97 .

HistorX announced they were going to do the mod on both platforms at various times however last month they said to me that they have made no progress on either sim for over a year.

      • Rantam

This is about DRM, not any mod from HistorX. But just to clarify it: we never said we were going to release “the mod” (whatever that means) to both platforms.

        Back to DRM now;)

      • Brownninja97 .

fair enough, its just that the articles that came out back when we saw a couple of screenshots for the cars in that pack sort of made it seem like that. i was new to sim racing back then so ive likely mixed up the details.

  • Crayfis

Sorry to hear you guys who bought the better sim are going to miss this, I don’t know why you don’t just keep playing the RF1 version, it would look exactly the same anyway.

    • maranello55

yeah we got the better sim. you go enjoy playing it with the inferior one lol

  • NIL

would be nice to hear ” rfactor is better, would fit to rf 2, rf2 is super….blabla”
    NEVER AGAIN ….
It will NEVER COME TO RFACTOR 2….. basta

    • maranello55

Its ok…we’ll make our own, ourselves lol

  • Franx JeKo D’Aloia

Is the never released BMW 2002 Turbo still planned at least for AC, right?

Still wish they expanded more towards other series, and recreate rarer cars which raced at LM, in Japan, US, etc. Cars such as the TOM’s Corolla G5, Nissan Skyline RS Silhouette Formula, Nissan Nichira Impul Silvia, Nissan Bluebird SSS Turbo, Zakspeed Lotus Europa, etc. Sector3 made some of them for their game, but having them in rF or AC would be even better.. Perhaps, we can still hope one day BLT will do them for GTL.

    • Jukka Karppinen

Yes it is (2002), there was video of it in some of earlier updates.

  • Thomas Cameron

This will be so nice , I already have the gp5 cars in r3e and there epic

  • Patrik Marek

    cool!

  • http://s1.zetaboards.com/SimSkinsByDen/index/ Dentykaffalatta

I remember downloading the DRM mod but never installed it as I am no fan of rF1. I do look forward to this though as the 935 was QUITE fun in it’s GTL and Race07 versions. As for HistorX I gave up on it after spending an entire day trying to get the Mini Cooper to feel half decent and then went back to GT Legends and realised I already had a better version, lol. Never went back to HistorX again as I preferred the original sim they ripped it from. It might be nice to see it on AC or rF2 though as my new set up now surpasses the three controller limitations of GTL. Either way, Cheers to the teams working on these as they give us ever more choices to decide on out own our preferences.

    • Franx JeKo D’Aloia

If you don’t like the physics of either Historix or DRM in rF1, just copy and paste the physics from GTL as I do. Just minimal file renaming is required.
For example, I don’t dislike the original DRM physics, but I merged it with the GTPC mod by VLM and I noticed that those Gr.5 cars are as fast (Or even faster than) as the prototypes such as the 956. As I’m a bit skeptical over it, I detuned the physics using the GTL ones for the 935, CSL, M1, etc and they’re now much much better. For Historix, the mod comes with an extra plugin for the physics which for me makes the cars feels like boats on wheels. Just delete that plugin and again it’s much much better.

      • http://s1.zetaboards.com/SimSkinsByDen/index/ Dentykaffalatta

My problem is more rF1 itself. I could never get past the feel of driving with wooden wheels on ice it has. Thanks for the info though. Cheers!

      • Philbert

Niel’s NSX for rf1 was the only car I truly felt worth driving when I had a wheel (g27)

      • http://s1.zetaboards.com/SimSkinsByDen/index/ Dentykaffalatta

For me, it was the Caterham mod. Loved it and felt it at least made rF1 worth the purchase price.

      • Philbert

I should have tried that one then. I’ve since moved on totally from rf1 though.

      • Kev

Doesn’t GTL use same engine as rF1?

      • http://s1.zetaboards.com/SimSkinsByDen/index/ Dentykaffalatta

Suposedly but graphics are MUCH better (not as cartoonish) and grip and physics MUCH better. rF1 to me was like iRacing, car would slide off the road above walking speed with no friction whatsoever.

      • Kev

Interesting. I’ve had a copy of GTL forever but doesn’t run on Win7?

      • http://s1.zetaboards.com/SimSkinsByDen/index/ Dentykaffalatta

If you input the key at Steam, you can download it there without the Starforce crap. Or, if you’re a member at NoGrip, PM me and I can get a download copy to you that works in WIN7 and just requires your online key. Cheers!!

      • Kev

        Downloading now!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks!!!!

Wow an Assetto Corsa News, with 97% commenting about rFactor.
If one scrolled down, and not read the news headline, one would think this was a rFactor news.
I’ll add my two pence worth then, rfactor2 has been out on steam for almost 3 weeks, and not a single update for a broken game, devs claim they are testing the waters?, more like testing the steam store, now that should be news.
