Dmatzies and CK73 have made great progress with adding the Group 5 Ford Capri to their DRM mod for rFactor as the new batch of preview shots below show.
Work on the exterior model is pretty much complete as you can see, the car will make extensive use of rFactor’s damage system, coming with detachable bonnet, bumpers, wing and more. Right now, the guys are busy working on the car’s physics, tuning it to be a good match for the Porsche and BMW in the mod. A preview video of the car will come up shortly so stay tuned for more.
Built to the Group 5 regulations, the turbo-powered Capri was one of the most popular cars in the Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft, facing competition from well known cars like the Porsche 935 and the BMW 320 Turbo.

The DRM mod is easily one of the best mods in racing games this generation IMO. It’s not the most realistic mod but that’s mainly the fault of the rfactor engine not modeling turbo properly. However, what’s there is fun as hell. It takes a good while to tune up the porsche to even be drivable and a couple hours more to even begin to masters its various quirks. It truly makes you respect the guys who actually raced this monster.

I hope to see two version of the car, ane with the 1.4 liter engine that was used in division 2 of DRM, and one with the 1.7 liter engine that was used in div. 1. Then the performance of the BMW can be tuned to be a bit more realistic and it can compete with the 1.4 liter and the 1.7 liter can compete with the Porsche and we will have to nice classes :)

Wondering if the BMW that was allready released would be given realistic physics in the future. I realize it was made faster to match the 935, but with more cars added it might make more sense to set it back to normal, the 935 will be the only car standing out or everything else will have to be fudged otherwise.
