Codemasters’ upcoming DiRT 3 is expected to set a new benchmark in terms of graphics for rally titles. On the Playstation 3, the title takes on Gran Turismo 5 which offers licensed World Rally Championship cars.

The guys over at Gamingbolt have put together some comparison shots as you can seen below, pairing up gamplay images from Gran Turismo 5 with preview shots of DiRT 3, showing comparable situations on track. Which graphical style do you prefer?

Using the trusted EGO-engine, DiRT 3 will be released on May 24 for the PC and consoles, following the successful second edition of the franchise that sold over 1.7 million copies. The title will feature over 50 cars that can be raced on over 100 stages that make use of a dynamic weather system including snow and ice.
