Many of you have probably seen preview screenshots of Culmone76’s textures for GTR2 floating around the community. I never posted them as they were payware and while that is perfectly fine, I know that many people don’t agree on the payware approach and, in all honesty, I didn’t feel like doing free advertising for a commercial project.
The story doesn’t end here as it’s one of those tales only the sim racing community has to offer. It turns out that culmone76, the person behind the texture work, was not running the commercial site selling his textures. He was under the impression that his work would be offered for free with the option of voluntary donation. In the end, people without own skill filled their pockets using somebody else’s work… and while that is a sad thing, there’s also good news in store.
Culmone76 will be releasing his track textures for GTR2 and GTR Evolution soon, a few previews can be found below. The textures will be released absolutely for free and for everybody to enjoy – Just like this community is intended to be.

This is very good news!!! I love Culmone´s work, a must have.
Answering Tezuka: no mismatch at all, at least in GTR2.
I think there´s a mismatch typo in the title. Culmone was known as Culmone67, or is it a legal question due to the persons behind the site as mentioned?
Thank you Culmone. Hope to hear from the GTR Evo textures soon!!!

Great to hear and I for one support this guy. I did not mind paying for 6 months D/L access, but I really thought the money went to him.
I believe in paying for very well made add-ons to support the modders, but this must be for quality work and be reasonable like they did for Links years ago.
Example:
1 – One new course 2.99 / 1 course
2 – Three new courses 6.99 / 3 courses
3 – Five new courses 9.99 / 5 courses
4 – Ten new courses 14.99 / 10 courses
This could work for tracks, skin packs, mods…. but this is just a thought, I believe time = money and these guys, some mind you, provide mods that are better than stock OEM game data.
OK, blast me away…
