Looks great. But… that hot air balloon in the last sector looks like it would be a distraction in the peripheral vision. Maybe you’d get used to it but it just doesn’t look quite right being there in the first place. Can’t recall the last one I did see at a racetrack.
I don’t like it and I think it spoils an otherwise amazing track.

Well, the Goodyear Blimp isn’t exactly what one would call uncommon at the track… sure this is a hot air balloon, but same concept. Couldn’t afford a blimp. lol

Blimps tend to be higher up. Here it looks like the balloon is coming in to land. :)

I’m wondering why you’re even looking in the air… lol I never even noticed it until I went back and looked for it after reading your comments. I was concentrated on the track, not what was floating up above.

        Were you, that’s nice dear!

Well maybe I am more aware of my surroundings. :) It was right in the middle of the screen. How can you even miss it no matter where you are looking ? When it looms into view it’s right in front of your eyes.

I agree about the balloon. A bit too distracting for me.

I am confused, is this for RF1 or RF2. I am looking at RF2 0.9 and it is more beautiful and detiled than this one??

Would a balloon even be allowed at a race track during an event?

Maybe if the helicopter broke down :)

Personally I think having some extra objects around is a plus point. I hate the clinical feel to iRacing tracks. I know it wouldn’t be laser scanned accurate, but I couldn’t think of anything more immersive than crowds of people, stood still and walking about, things in the sky, tents etc etc.

    • http://racingrenders.com/ F1Racer

Yes but that’s just the sort of thing people moaned about with Shift 1 and 2.
If iRacing’s tracks are as they are in real life and that happens to be “clinical” then so be it. That’s how it would be in real life.
All people will be stood still in a sim too :)
What things in the sky do you want ? Airships and balloons, really ? Seems a bit bizarre.

No, I’m not after airships etc, but its not uncommon to see a helicopter at an event. I’m also not after Shift style crowding. Just making a track feel alive. Just groups of people on banks and a few people walking about. I know a don’t have wandering spectators yet but it’s something that needs to happen in the future for a complete experience.

A pitlane that is full of people running about, medic cars and recovery trucks on the track after a red flag. All these things need to happen, it won’t be iRacing realistic, but is important for people like me who can only afford to sprint/hillclimb and cannot race. It’s the escape for me for a sport I love but cannot afford.
