Croft v0.91 – release notes:

Croft v1.0 is planned after GOLD version of rfactor 2.

On full/max details Croft has 20-60% better performance than ISI’s track (depends on hardware) but if you still have a problem, try these settings:

shadows “low”
track details “medium”
enviroment reflections “OFF”
HDR ON, AA 2x, AF 4x
other settings: ON/HIGH

These settings are good compromise between quality & performance.

Package contains track and three vmods.
Vmods need updated cars and tracks:

Brianza
Portugal
Monaco
Malaysia
Palm Beach
Belgium
Mid-Ohio

Nissans
Clio
1960 OW

ps. some one could ask why after six months of work Croft still is not fully finished?
The reason is obvious, every single thing in this project was new for me, I had to learn everything step by step about modding and still I have a lot to learn.

I had two choices:

1. wait, learn, improve the track after each new rf2′s build, and release it after GOLD
2. release it now and give you guys the oportunity to drive at Croft 0.9

I chose option 2.

Feel3 to C&C.

Thanks feels3… I can already tell that this will be fantastic! Downloading ASAP…

  • Big Ron

That looks even better than any of the stock rF2-tracks. Really awesome job, very well done.

    Epic.

Well done mate, looking forward to trying this later!

Perfect! I’m racing here this weekend and need to relearn the place!!

I love the texture work and the details in the surface and curbs!  It looks every bit as good as the tracks we’ve seen in iracing lately which is clearly the bench mark! Thanks for releasing this early version to play on! Croft is a fantastic circuit and there has never been a version that’s done it justice before! really looking forward to your future projects! I would love to see your work on knockhill and cadwell park too! :)

And 2 hours later, here’s my verdict.

Damn good. Looks above and beyond a lot of modded content I’ve seen in the past, and so much fun in the Clio!

I know there’s been other great tracks released for rF2 already. But this truly feels (pun) like the “first new track” for rF2. It’s like the Lime rock park moment in rF1, feels like the quality bar just took a leap forwards.
Just to over-state the point that feels3 has done incredible work, I want to metaphorically wave the benchmark flag. Quality is worth the effort because no doubt most people will end up having Croft installed on every rF2 running PC, and that says a good thing about rF2′s future.

Stunning work feels3, just did some laps and I love it!

    It’s lovely, well done mate.

Never drove the track before like 2hours ago, jumped into a server which had the Clio’s running and ran 31 consecutive laps, I came in in the middle  of it to get some new front tires and back it :D
It’s a very addicting track with some fun high speed corners

  • yorch sincla

Really great track, by far the best of Rfactor 2, and the upgrades for 1.0 version are really promising.

    Looks great!

  • noro ardanto

    Thanks very much feels3!
I have a question: where should I put SRPL_1960, SRPL_ClioCup and SRPL_EnduGt? my rF2 mod manager can not install these mod

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steve-Ford/100001922734704 Steve Ford

Put them into packages folder.  You have to uncheck “show mods only” then install them in mod manager.

  • James Capper

This track is fabulous….extremely well done. I could tear around this track quite happily for hours

This looks very good, better than the official tracks. Overall I’m dissapointed with rFactor 2, I’ll hold onto the license I bought but with iRacing improving every month, Assetto Corsa looking very promising and the constant pCars updates it feels like ISI has missed the boat a bit.

  • noro ardanto

Thanks, yes that’s what I did, I never had any problems installing ISI’s mod. srpl_1960 installed ok but mod manager put the other two under “unable to install the following mods” …strange, I’ll try to reinstall hope it will fix the problem.

  • http://twitter.com/feels3 feels3

    Check again your content.

You need to update following tracks and cars to install these vmods:

    Brianza
    Portugal
    Monaco
    Malaysia
    Palm Beach
    Belgium
    Mid-Ohio

    Nissans
    Clio
    1960 OW

  • noro ardanto

Thanks! Mid-Ohio is the problem.. I’ll install it

Good to hear about the 3d trees. I was shocked at the rotating billboard trees at Spa…. hadn’t seen anything like that since the mid 90′s.

Decided to wait until RF2 has been out awhile and just enjoy RF1 for the time being.

  • Nathan Robinson

Unreal. If this is the kind of stuff we have to look forward too than we are in for some great things. Whipping the clio around this track is the most fun i’ve had a while. Thanks for the track :)

  • Ricoo

    Thanks a lot feels3 :)))

  • jswarthoff

    chuck norris approves :)

You took the words right out of my mouth mate.

  • Richard Hessels

iRacing improving every month? As far as i know they improve a little bit every 3 months.

They fix some bugs when needed outside the 3 month cycle.

  • Richard Hessels

Rally a great effort in trackbuilding!
    Thanks a lot!!!

Had a blast yesterday on a full server with the Clio’s.
Perfect track for those kind of cars.
I liked the dry tarmac better with road reflection of.
Otherwise i get white pieces of track on the horizon.
The asphalt also looked a bit more worn that way.

I only noticed that cars driving in the grass seem to be able to accelerate just as good as on the asphalt. Maybe put a bit more “resistance” on the grass.
That felt a bit unfair that a car that was off the track was still able to drive as fast out of the corner, coming up next to me.

The 2D tree’s are very well done, don’t know if it’s worthwhile to invest in 3D trees, if it has a big performance hit.
If only ISI can get rid of those irritating alpha dither patterns on far away “tree” textures.
Because a full field of cars punches the framerate down severely as it is already.
Or might be an idea to have the 2D tree available as a lower detail option.

Looking forward to the full release.

    feels3 for President! ;)
    Thanks a lot!
P.S.: Are you planning another track already?

This is what modding is about, rising the standarts, infinite thanks.

hahaha.  iRacing is lucky if they improve every year.  I don’t consider the ugliest looking birds in sim racing history, a million different camera angles, facebook intergration and a hundred other stupid features improving.   Don’t get me started on the crap tire model either.  Damn tires are made of steel and don’t wear.  Wanna know what DK says?  He says I don’t care what you say, the wear is correct.  hahahaha.  The guy is an idiot.

“Wanna know what DK says?  He says I don’t care what you say, the wear is correct.  hahahaha.  The guy is an idiot.”

LOL an idiot who wrote the story of simracing with GPL and Nascar 2003, and now with iR. Stefano Casillo (aka Kunos) consider him like one of the most important man on the story of sim racing. You should be more respectful with people who work hard.

Anyone here call Gjon Camaj, Stefano Casillo,Scawen or so on “idiots”. We are here for the passion on simracing. If you dislike iR let the sub expires and leave it, no need to be so hater in every topic. Grow up.

I was roughly going along with some of your arguments until your last sentence. Other than being incredibly disrespectful, you’ve, perhaps unwittingly, demonstrated a poor knowledge of sim racing history. That man is rightly a legend in this hobby.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1711429307 Chris Wright

Without question a little masterpiece in the making. ISI should negotiate to include it in the launch release. Still not mad about the glacial rate of rF2 updates, btw, recent Clio arrival notwithstanding.  PCars may well be the other extreme, but it is great to see something evolve on a weekly basis. Unless I missed something, there’s been no news of another update for quite a while now? Loving rFactor2, but I think they should trust us like SMS do and let us have small updates more often. No doubt many of you won’t agree. I’m not saying I think the release should be hurried though.

Astonishingly quality work !  The track is so well textured.
I just ran the Clio’s around there and it was great fun.

It’s a pity that neither with the in-built ‘All Cars All Tracks’ option and the alternative one from F1-Elites that I still can’t run the Formula ISI car there.   Is there an ‘All Cars All Tracks’ version that actually works ??

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001745111649 Ali Alami

    Amazing work guys.

Thank you so much for your efforts

  • Ricoo

I agree this track with the clio is pure fun. :)

    Very nice track!

  • Ricoo

The only real point I would like to see improved is working headlights, except that rFactor looks great and run much smoother than pCARS with my core2duo…

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Robert-Every/678881382 Robert Every

Fair play to those that have been involved in this, on a fairly average PC this is the best track I have tried so far.
Very detailed if you have been to Croft, very bumpy and in all the right places, and also great fun.

Excellent work and now after a while we are starting to see some truly superb stuff coming through from modders, the recent engine upgrades ad patches are starting to make the game feel superb.

and compared to the meagre competition, well there is none really
