Corvette C6.R 1.0 – Released

Posted on April 12th, 2009 in

TeamPlayers have released their Corvette C6.R for rFactor, bringing one of the most legendary GT1 race cars to the simulation.

Based on an unfinished commercial project, the scratch-made car comes with a detailed cockpit and plenty of liveries both real and fictional.

Based on the popular C6 road-going Corvette, the C6.R is GM’s weapon of choice for the ACO & FIA GT1 class. After its debut in 2005, the car clinched several Le Mans wins and ALMS championships. This year, the C6.R will be contesting its final Le Mans 24 Hours, it will continue to run in several national championships though.

Well, TeamPlayers is a small ‘Boutique’ mod team. It may take them a while, but when they finally release something it is always fantastic and ready for prime time!

Teamplayers made their name with NASCAR Heat mods. For rFactor they have released the 1955 Mercedes W196 and the Fabcar mod.

Summary:The physical is great, the cockpit looks great. But the model is not very good, the skin is ugly…The lights very ugly too,And i cannot see the car have break pads……Hope u will improve it。

The release definitely shows promise, but it feels a bit rushed. Lots of smaller details still need to be addressed, from obvious things like adding a damage model to smaller ones like fixing some texts in the LCD (see screenshot: S ECTOR, S PLIT) and certain engine related sounds that loop really badly.

Please don’t consider this mod “done” and keep working on it, or allow others to finish this car. Thanks for bringing another classic car to rFactor!

    Amazing car! Thanks guys!

This mod is ok.. however I don’t personally feel the physics to be accurate and the model is lacking in the quality region. So far IMHO Simbin still has the best(and most accurate at least graphically) C6R released yet for a sim.

I agree. It just doesn’t feel right. I don’t understand how they could’ve gotten this so wrong. Oh well. Back to the EOAA Vette.

xilix: How right you are about the EOAA Vette (and the other EOAAGT cars) ! Great physics and FFB
