Codemasters Recruits Team For F1 Browser Title

Back in November, Codemasters CEO Rod Cousens first spilled the beans that the studio is planning to release a Formula One browser game to accompany their franchise of F1 racing titles.

Now, there’s some tidbit of news on the project as Codemasters are recruiting a new development team to work on the browser-based title. This news should put concerns about a negative impact on the main F1 franchise to rest as Codemasters is establishing a dedicated team to work on the online title.

Not much is known about the planned title other than Codemasters’ promise of using an “innovative design approach to car control”. Codemasters’ isn’t the first major developer to extend a multi-platform franchise with a browser-based online title as EA’s Fifa Football series has successfully launched an online version featuring quite extensive 3d graphics.

As mentioned in the beginning, Codemasters is currently looking for programming talent, you can check out detailed job descriptions here.
