Codemasters Looking for DiRT3 Focus Testers

Codemasters is currently looking for interested gamers to visit their headquarters in the HQ and give an early version of their upcoming DiRT 3 rally title a spin.

The so-called focus testing aims to give the developers a fresh perspective from gamers with various backgrounds. The test is scheduled for February 3rd at Codemasters’ headquarters in Southam in the United Kingdom.

Any interested gamers who can get there on their own are open to apply to join the test, all you have to do is answer five questions about yourself in the Codemasters forum.

Using the trusted EGO-engine, DiRT 3 will be released in 2011 for the PC and consoles, following the successful second edition of the franchise that sold over 1.7 million copies. The title will feature over 50 cars that can be raced on over 100 stages that make use of a dynamic weather system including snow and ice.

Dirt2 was too arcadey for me.  I just wanna drive without all the bells, whistles and Ken Block talking in my ear.

  • crosschris

Yes it was a bit OTT, but you could always switch the HUD off aswell as those annoying voices!

Interesting idea. Sadly i’m a little bit far away from UK.
Dirt2 was fun to drive with great FFB.

You sure about a dynamic weather system ?
cause reading their forums this is what is said

“All disciplines will have a selection of weather conditions and time of day”

which would suggest that once you make a selection that that is it, it wont change during the course of a stage,

heres another intresting piece from that link above

“update-Snow and mud will affect your vision but it will not affect your ability to chase someone down and pass them.”

That sounds more like just visual effects that the weather actually affecting your vechicle

2h drive away from me. Hmmm….. Will have to think about it.

  • Carbonfibre

Damn, too far away, plus I’ll be at uni, whatever.

Whoever is going; just tell them the tyres have too much grip (once again) and RBR is still the best rally sim for what, 7 years now?

Phuc Codemasters after the F1 2010 fiasco.

Dirt2 wasn’t so bad. But it should focus more on rallying. It was too americanized. Dirt3 will focus more on rallying so I think it won’t be so bad.

Carbonfibre – playing RBR makes my eyes hurt. It’s really fugly! Have you tried Dirt RBR mod? It’s best of both.
