Back in April, I put up a first article about a rumored successor to Logitech’s popular G25 steering wheel. Apart from a part number that had already been assigned to the wheel and some dummy entries in some web shops, no official confirmation on the new product was available though.
This changes now as Codemasters has just released a list of steering wheels that will be compatible with their upcoming Colin McRae DIRT 2 title, including the Logitech G27!
An excerpt from the list:
Logitech G25 Racing Wheel
Logitech G27 Racing Wheel
Logitech Driving Force Pro
As you can see, the G25 is also listed, meaning this can’t be a typo of some sort. It’s unknown whether Codemasters intentionally released this info or if it’s a mistake of some kind, either way it’s great news for the steering wheel market. Right now, there are absolutely no specs or info available on the G27 other that it does exist – Stay tuned for more on Logitech’s newest wheel.

Uuhh… this is truly splendid.
Now, when I can buy G27? ’cause I need new one to replace my present G25, which has its own problems, I can drive though.

I hope they make it xbox compatible, then I might consider buying an xbox + forza3, xbox needs a good wheel, yes there is fanatec but they have limited supplies and you can’t buy it in a store.

As you can see in my screenshot, Dirt2 wont’t run with the G27 on the XBOX, so I don’t think it will be 360-compatible at all.

hopefully it´s cheaper than the fanatec…I was already saving money for the fanatec but if the G27 has vibration in the pedals and there are adjustable than I will buy the G27.

Im saving for a new wheel. Its a toss between the non released G27 or Fanatec right now. I will wait and see what Logitech does with the G27 first.

Thats not Codemasters fault though, MS only allow certain companies to produce third party controllers. Currently I beleive the only companies are Fanatec and Mad Catz

That’s not correct. There are Logitech controllers for the 360 like the Wireless Guitar Controller or even their low budget steering wheel DriveFX.
Xbox 360 support would be the only reason to buy a G27. Otherwise I see no reason why I should dump my G25 for the G27.
