Team HistorX has released new previews of their upcoming rFactor mod, revealing one of their new scratch-made cars by showing us five shots of the BMW 2002.
Build between 1966 and 1972, the 2002 was not just a very popular street car but also successful in racing competition. Many well-known BMW racing teams made their name racing the 2002 including Schnitzer Motorsport and Alpina.
Using GT Legends as a base, the Historic GT & Touring Car mod for rFactor proved to be one of the most popular releases for the simulation. The second version of the mod will be bringing many popular racing cars from the past to rFactor, including the Ferrari 330, the Porsche 904, the Aston Martin DB4 and many others.
About a year ago, Team NLC announced a sucessor to their popular VLN 2005 mod for rFactor, planning to bring the 2009 season of Germany’s popular racing series to the simulation.
For almost twelve months, the team has been quietly working in full force on their massive project and is now able to present us with a very big batch of renders to show off their progress.
The renders show twelve different car models sporting various liveries. While some models like the Renault Clio or the Mini Cooper S have been converted, others have been equipped with new parts such as the Porsche 997 GT3 Cup S or the GT3 Cup MR.
To top it all of, the renders include four brand new car models that have been created from scratch for this mod, including BMW’s new E92 M3 GT2, the Audi TT 8j and the spectacular Ford GT.

VLN 2009 will include many cars from the current season of the VLN endurance championship that races exclusively on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, attracting 150+ car grids. Last year’s season featured the usual GT & touring car mix, spiced up with many new GT3 cars like the Audi R8 GT3 LMS, the Alpina B6 and the Dodge Viper.
International Pro-Modding has released a new preview video of their FSONE Formula One 2009 mod for rFactor, showing us a complete lap in the Red Bull RB5 at Bahrain.
Designed by Adrian Newey, the RB5 is powered by a Renault V8 engine and helped drivers Sebastian Vettel & Mark Webber to stay in the championship hunt following several victories.
Made by International Pro-Modding, FSONE 2009 will include all cars and drivers of last year’s Formula One season which introduced a whole lot of changes to the world championship.
The Simco Modding Team has released a first version of their Formula Two mod for rFactor, adding a popular new Formula series to the simulation.
The version released now is not completely final as the team is still working on better sounds and proper boost simulation. Furthermore, the current version is aimed at online play, coming with no talent files for the AI.
Launched in 2009, The FIA Formula Two Championship is meant to provide young drivers with a chance to compete in top-tier motorsport.The series uses a standard chassis built by Williams, the cars are powered by Audi engines that put out 400hp.
The cars offer a boost-feature that extends the car’s power to 450hp for up to six seconds, ten times during a race. The young series made headlines for all the wrong reasons when young Henry Surtees suffered fatal injuries during a Formula Two race at Brands Hatch during the series’ maiden season.
1985 featured some of the most powerful cars in Formula One history, the mod comes with matching physics allowing adjustable turbo boost, races without refueling and more for an authentic 1980’s Formula One experience.
FVRFactor has released a new version of their 2010 Australian V8 Supercars mod for rFactor, bringing the current season of the popular touring car series to the simulation.
The mod contains all V8-powered Ford Falcon and Holden race cars and drivers of the 2010 season that recently kicked off at Abu Dhabi and Bahrain. Version 1.6C comes with completely new physics, including a new suspension model.
FVR V8 2010 comes with brand new & scratch-made models, sounds, skins and RealFeel-compatible physics, making it a must try for touring car fans. Initially released for rFactor, the mod will also be converted to several Simbin titles later on.
jgmonty has released a new version of the Shannonville Motorsport Park, bringing the Canadian racing venue to rFactor, GTR Evolution & GTR2
Originally created by F4Racer for SCGT, the track comes with four different layouts from 1.8 kilometers to 4.0 kilometers in lenght, supporting 54 pit spots and 100+ car grids.
Improvements in the new version include wet weather reflections for the rFactor version, new cameras, animated corner marshalls for the Simbin versions & more.
Located between Toronto and Montreal, Shannonville Motorsport Park is a popular testing venue to its many layouts. Furthermore, the track hosts bike and drag racing as well as the Ariel Atom Eperience.
F1Racer has released a new set of high-resolution FSONE 2009 renders, showing the mod’s Force India VJM02 from various perspectives.
Driven by German Adrian Sutil and Italian Giancarlo Fisichella, the Mercedes-powered VJM02 was Force India’s weapon of choice for their second Formula One season. The team’s season was highlighted by Giancarlo Fisichella’s second-place finish at Spa-Francorchamps.

Mike Peters has released his Firestone Indy Lights open-wheel mod for rFactor, bringing us his final mod for the simulation.
After releasing several very popular IRL mods, this one is Mike’s final work for rFactor. The mod is released unfinished and the modding community is welcome to finish it as long as no parts are used for commercial purposes.
Indy Lights are the most important feeder series for IRL, running their 100 mile race in Indianapolis in support of the Indy 500. History of the series dates back to 1986 when it was started as development series for CART.
The series utilises spec Dallara chassis, powered by 3,5 liter Infiniti Q45 V8-engine. Indy Lights race both on road courses and ovals. The mod includes cars from three different seasons, ranging from 2007 to 2009.
The Virtua_LM Junior Team has released two new preview shots of their Prototype C mod for rFactor back in January that slipped by my attention.
The shots show the GT class of the mod in action at Mid Ohio as the BMW M1 and countless Porsches race side-by-side.
Combining both Prototypes and GT’s from three different classes, Prototype C for rFactor centers around the 1983 edition of the Le Mans 24 Hour race. The mod includes legendary race cars like the Porsche 956, the Lancia LC2, the BMW M1 and countless other cars that are still considered to be among the most beautiful and spectacular sports cars of all time.
The rfactor Series Junior Team has released a small update for the recently-released 4.0 version of their popular Japanese Formula 3 mod for rFactor.
The updated various, mainly physics-related, issues as listed below.

Virtua_LM has released new previews of another stunning track creation for rFactor, showing us new shots of the Japanese Fuji Speedway in late 80s specification.
Located near the famous Mount Fuji in Oyama, Japan, Fuji Speedway was opened in 1963. The track was a popular venue for sports car races as the track was part of the FIA World Sports Car Championship for Group C prototypes from 1982 to 1988.
Even though the track was slowed down with two chicanes during the 80s, speeds on the track remained very high thanks to the 1.5 kilometer main straght – The longest in motorsports.
Team SRM has released a new preview video of their Formula One 1990 mod project for rFactor, showing the AGS-JH24B driven by Gabriele Tarquini at Monza.
1990 was a rather exciting year in F1 as Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost went head to head for the title. The championship bid was decided at Suzuka, following a controversial incident on the very first lap. You´ll be able to relive all the action with SRM’s mod as it will bring all cars and drivers of the season to rFactor.
Team Players have released a small patch for their recently-released Grand Slam Rolex Sports Car Series mod for rFactor, fixing a much-discussed issue with the car’s brakes.
Changelog:
1. Fixes the brake issues that have been reported.
2. Adds a new “Sprint” brake option for shorter tracks
The mod includes four different Daytona Prototype models made by Riley, Crawford, Fabcar and Doran. The cars are powered by various V8 engines from manufacturers such as BMW, Porsche & Lexus. All paint schemes from the 2006 season are included, matching templates to paint your own car are also provided.
Originally started by D3 as a planned commercial game, Team Players have took up the task to finish what D3 started and iDT continued to develop. The whole project was initially announced at the 2006 Rolex 24 Hour race at Daytona and came to a conclusion with the final release of the mod four years later.
Important: This is just a patch, make sure to have the initial version of the mod installed before using it.
Jessica, Darin & Shaun of InsideSimRacing.tv were recently joined by Image Space Incorporated's Gjon Camaj who visited the guys for an interview in an upcoming SRT episode.
ISI's head-honcho did not come empty-handed though as Camaj showed off rFactor 2's user interface for the very first time.

F1 2010 – First Developer Video Trailer Released
As promised, Codemasters have just released the first of their developer diary videos, introducing us to some of their staff and showing off first-ever moving footage of F1 2010 for the PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
Footage in the video has been taken from a pre-alpha version of the title that was shown-off in London today, showing us some gameplay action at Monza.
