Less than two months after the release of GTR Evolution, Simbin has released another RACE07 Expansion/Full Game that brings us the Swedish Touring Car Championship. Is the STCC Game just a simple content pack or another refinement of the RACE07 series? Read the review to find out!
Without taking too much away from my STCC – The Game review, most of you are aware of the fact that Simbin had to include a fictional car in the simulation as Mercedes gave no permission to use their car’s appearance.
There’s no stopping the community though as Klurax has already started converting the car to a full Mercedes Benz C200 as you can see below.
Thanks to Simbin, I will be able to present you a full review on their newest STCC – The Game simulation in a few days time.
To keep you entertained until then, here is a first batch of screenshots taken during my first spins with the game. The screenshots show both the STCC cars and the Chevrolet Camaro Cup, racing on three different tracks. Enjoy!
Simbin has released the matching templates for their STCC Game touring car simulation, allowing the community to paint the new models such as the Peugeot 308 or Volvo C30.
The only problem is that just a very few people have actually gotten their hands on Simbin’s newest simulation yet. STCC – The Game has been successfully released in Sweden, there is no official word on the game’s Steam release date though.
Hopefully, the Steam release is not too far away. In the meantime, we can kill some time painting some cars with the templates below.
Along with the demo, Simbin has released a new trailer showing their STCC – The Game in action. The video shows both STCC and Camaro Cup racing accompanied by very good music by Swedish band Mustasch.
Below is the Youtube version of the video, a high resolution version can be downloaded here.
Simbin has released a demo of their STCC – The Game simulation on Steam today. The demo lets you try the Peugeot 308 at Mantorp Park, giving you an idea of what Swedish touring car racing feels like.
The game will be released in Sweden on Friday, hopefully a release on Steam will follow soon. Until then, check out the demo to decide if STCC – The Game is for you.
The Swedish Subdogs.se website has a full review and plenty of new screenshots of Simbin’s upcoming STCC – The Game which you can find below.
While the review is only interesting to those being fluent in Swedish, the screenshots show the new cars for the very first time. They also solves the mystery why the Mercedes was missing on the car list. The car is in game but has been changed to not resemble the real car.
Why Mercedes wouldn’t allow their car to appear in a real simulation but approves crap such as the Dream Testdrive is beyond me though.
Even though Simbin has already stated that STCC – The game will be released world-wide by using Steam, RSC-member Gopher04 has received the following info from Simbin regarding the game’s release:
STCC will be available on Steam, but for the boxed edition you will most likely need to import from Sweden.
As far as I know GTR Evo and STCC will live nicely side by side allowing you to use STCC specific cars on e.g. Nürburgring or take the Koenigsegg on to the technical Swedish tracks… but precisely how it will work with steam / non-steam together versions I honestly can’t say.
That confirms that only a very few of us will be able to get their hands on a boxed version of the game but almost everybody should be able to get the game via Steam. We also have confirmation that the addon-version should work along with GTR Evolution, the Swedish tracks will be a very valuable addition to the simulations’s rich choice of tracks.
Simbin has confirmed the Europe-wide release of their upcoming STCC – The Game simulation. Despite focusing on a Scandinavian series, the game will be available worldwide via Steam as well as in stores in some countries.
STCC – The Game focuses on the Swedish Touring Car Championship that runs to the same regulations as the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). The game will feature all-new cars and tracks and will be available both as standalone version and as addon package for RACE07.
If you´re looking for a place to discuss the upcoming simulation, the official STCC Game forum has been opened over at RaceSimCentral.
While the GTR Evolution release is just one day away in Germany now (some lucky ones even got their hands on the game today), there’s already the next treat coming our way from Simbin.
Steam already lists the demo for the upcoming STCC game as you can see in the screenshot, it’s not known when it will be available and what content it will contain though. But if it’s already listed, it can’t be too far away….
After yesterday’s launch of the official website, Simbin has announced the the release date for their upcoming STCC game today. The game will be available both as stand alone game featuring all of RACE07’s content as well as an addon version for existing race owners.
Starting September 19th, sim racers will be able to experience all the action the Swedish Touring Car Series has to offer, bringing us exciting Super 2000 touring car racing on seven all-new tracks.
Alongside the first official screenshots, Simbin has also released a first promotional video of their STCC – The Game title. The video can be seen below and is worth to be checked out, even though it does not include any in-game footage.
Jessica, Darin & Shaun of InsideSimRacing.tv were recently joined by Image Space Incorporated's Gjon Camaj who visited the guys for an interview in an upcoming SRT episode.
ISI's head-honcho did not come empty-handed though as Camaj showed off rFactor 2's user interface for the very first time.
Below are six screenshots of the interface, showing off what looks like a major improvement over rFactor's much criticised UI-system.Taking a closer look, the screenshots reveal some very interesting details as the task bar gives away the version number used by Camaj for the presentation - 0.783.
Also, we´re starting to get an idea on the ...

Fuji Speedway by Virtua_LM – New Previews
Virtua_LM has released new previews of another stunning track creation for rFactor, showing us new shots of the Japanese Fuji Speedway in late 80s specification.
Located near the famous Mount Fuji in Oyama, Japan, Fuji Speedway was opened in 1963. The track was a popular venue for sports car races as the track was part of the FIA World Sports Car Championship for Group C prototypes from 1982 to 1988.
Even though the track was slowed down with two chicanes during the 80s, speeds on the track remained very high thanks to the 1.5 kilometer main straght - The longest in motorsports.
