MMG has released their Formula One 2007 mod for GTR Evolution/RACE 07, bringing a high-quality Formula One mod to Simbin’s franchise.
After receiving lots of praise from the rFactor community, F1 2007 has been carefully converted to GTR Evolution by Günthar Rowe who equipped the mod with scratch-made physics and plenty of other new features such as animated arms, rain races and other stuff that couldn’t be found in the rFactor version.
This first release of the mod includes equal physics for all cars and is aimed at leagues looking for close online competition. A personal edition of the mod with realistic and unique physics for all cars will be released later on.
Follow the link below to download the mod, F1 2007 for GTR Evolution is exclusivly hosted on Racedepartment.com until the end of the month. Please make sure to read the included documentation for physics information and more.
Following the release of the rFactor version two weeks ago, LcR has released the Autodromo di Franciacorta for RACE07/GTR Evolution and GT Legends.
The scratch-made track has been made with Bob’s Track Builder, textures have been supplied by well-known 2d artist culmone67.
Located in Itlay’s Lombardy region, the Autodromo di Franciacorta is 2.5 kilometers in length and a popular testing venue for many Italian car magazines and other club-level motorsport activity such as track days.
As announced about a month ago, Simbin has released the 1.2.1.2 patch for their latest RACE On simulation title, fixing various small glitches and problems.
As usual with Simbin patches, this patch is also available to owners of RACE07, GTR Evolution & STCC – The Game as all titles will benefit from the improvements.
To update your title, simply start Stream to obtain the new version. An offline version of the patch is not yet available, you can find the full changelog below (you might have to click “Read More” to see it).
A month ago, Pixim has released two French tracks for rFactor, bringing Nogaro and Charade to the simulation. Now, Neel Jani has converted Charade to GTR2, GT Legends and RACE 07 while thierry81 has taken care of Nogaro.
Officially called Circuit Paul Armagnac, the track near Nogaro in south-western France was opened in 1960 and has hosted many notable events ever since. Current races hosted on the track include the FFSA GT championship as well as an annual FIA GT round.
Also known as the Circuit Clermont-Ferrand, Charade has hosted four editions of the French Grand Prix between 1965 and 1972 and also served as a filming location for the movie Grand Prix. Back in 1989, the nine kilometer circuit was shortened to four kilometers and has served as testing and racing school venue ever since. Despite playing no role in professional motor sports anymore, the track is still famous for bearing close resemblance to the Nürburgring Nordschleife in terms of challenge for the drivers.
Robin Johansson has released his Carrera Cup Scandinavia 2009 mod for RACE07 / STCC – The Game and other titles from Simbin’s RACE-series.
Using Simbin’s Porsche 996 model, the mod features 25 cars from the 2009 Carrera Cup season. The cars come with new physics, allowing them to run real-life lap times on the Swedish tracks.
Simbin has released the changelog for the recently-released update for RACE07 & GTR Evolution that brings the simulations to version 1.2.0.8
The most interesting change for RACE07 owners is that all features that have been introduced with GTR Evolution & STCC – The Game are now available in RACE07.
To retrieve the patch, simply start Steam and your installation will be updated. An offline-version of the patch is not yet available.

Yako has released a new version of XD, a tool that adds lots of useful information to the HUD of racing simulations like GTR2 & GTR Evolution.
XD displays all kinds of valuable data including temperatures, wear and advanced timing information. The displayed data can be customized as you wish as the tool includes a well documented .ini file with plenty of variables.
The new version comes with support for the newest RACE07 version as well as experimental support for rFactor.
While rFactor has two very popular plugins that improve the simulation’s Force Feedback effects, GTR Evolution and other Simbin simulations rely on the sims’ own effects.
This changes now as Freejrs has spend plenty of time trying to come up with more realistic FFB settings optimised for the Logitech G25, the most popular sim racing wheel.
His new settings promise to deliver more mass transfer feedback instead of solely relying on feedback from the tires. Steering damper and friction effects have been removed to allow feedback from the tires and the suspension without distortion.
The new effects are available for GT Legends, GTR2 and RACE07/GTR Evolution. If you tried them, why not leave others some feedback about the result?
RMi has released their Radical SR3 & SR4 for Race07 & GTR Evolution, equipping the Simbin models with brand new, scratch-made physics.
The release includes new physics both for the 190hp Radical SR3 and the 262hp SR4 prototype. The physics are based on extensive research and include a dyno matched engine, realistic aerodynamics and a balanced suspension.
Yako has released a new version of XD, a tool that adds lots of useful information to the HUD of racing simulations like GTR2 & GTR Evolution.
The following data can be displayed:
MoTeC Data
Tyretemperatures (In/Mid/Out)
Tyrewear
Tyrepressure
Enginetemperatures (Water/Oil)
Braketemperatures
Engine Health
Session Info
Track- and ambienttemperature
Session length (remaining time in a practice session or laps in race)
Fuelconsumption (for last lap / average)
Advanced Timingstable
Driverslist and their postion
During practice the fastest laps are displayed
The displayed data can be customized as you wish as the tool includes a well documented .ini file with plenty of variables.
XD can be used in GTR2, GT Legends as well as RACE07 & GTR Evolution, only the latest Steam version is supported though. Below are some screenshots, showing it at work in various sims.
Racedepartmen’s Andrew Evans has converted the short versions of Anderstorp, Magny Cours and the Nürburgring GP track from GT Legends to RACE07 & GTR Evolution.
The three tracks are short & sweet layouts of these bigger venues, utilising only a part of the track which suits close tin top racing very well.
Custom-8 has released their Jylandsringen track project for RACE07, GTR Evolution & STCC – The Game, bringing Denmark’s top touring car track to the Simbin simulations.
The track comes in two different layouts, a 1475m variant that was used until 2003 and the modern 2300m layout that hosts the Danish Touring Car Championships and other motorsport activities.
If you´re wondering if this track is worth to be tried, just listen to what Danish race driver Kasper Andersen has to say:
“My first impression was just WOAW, I could not put a finger on anything, it is 100% carried through down to the last details! I have to say that this track seems just a tad more thorough and accurate than any of the tracks by Simbin. It’s just superb!”
Custom-8 has announced the release date for their Jyllandsringen project which will bring Denmark’s most important motor racing venue to RACE07, GTR Evolution & STCC – The Game.
The track will be released on the 27th of March and will feature two layouts, a 1475m variant that was used until 2003 and the modern 2300m layout that hosts the Danish Touring Car Championships and other motorsport activities. Plenty of previews can be found here, the two layouts can be checked out below.
PetraGTC has released a pack of 2009 Seat Leon TDI’s for RACE07 & GTR Evolution, adding the 2008 championship winning car to the WTCC simulations.
The pack includes all 2009 Seat Leon TDI’s as raced at the opening round of the 2009 WTCC season in Curitiba last weekend. The mod includes a new engine file and TDI sounds for a complete Diesel feeling.

rFactor 2 – Six User Interface Screenshots
Jessica, Darin & Shaun of InsideSimRacing.tv were recently joined by Image Space Incorporated's Gjon Camaj who visited the guys for an interview in an upcoming SRT episode.
ISI's head-honcho did not come empty-handed though as Camaj showed off rFactor 2's user interface for the very first time.
Below are six screenshots of the interface, showing off what looks like a major improvement over rFactor's much criticised UI-system.Taking a closer look, the screenshots reveal some very interesting details as the task bar gives away the version number used by Camaj for the presentation - 0.783.
Also, we´re starting to get an idea on the ...
