jgmonty has released a new version of the Shannonville Motorsport Park, bringing the Canadian racing venue to rFactor, GTR Evolution & GTR2

Originally created by F4Racer for SCGT, the track comes with four different layouts from 1.8 kilometers to 4.0 kilometers in lenght, supporting 54 pit spots and 100+ car grids.

Improvements in the new version include wet weather reflections for the rFactor version, new cameras, animated corner marshalls for the Simbin versions & more.

Located between Toronto and Montreal, Shannonville Motorsport Park is a popular testing venue to its many layouts. Furthermore, the track hosts bike and drag racing as well as the Ariel Atom Eperience.

Alless has released his Audi R15 TDI for GTR2, adding Audi’s current Le Mans Prototype challenger to the simulation.

Introduced in 2009, the R15 is Audi’s second Diesel prototype for the Le Mans 24 Hours. The V10-powered car won its debut outing at the Sebring 12 Hours but failed to match the speed of the Peugeot 908 at Le Mans, making it Audi’s first LMP since the R8 that has not won the 24 hour classic at its first attempt.

The R15 features several revolutionary aerodynamic elements, some of which caused a big controversy in the sports car world as competitors Peugeot and Aston Martin officially protested against the R15’s front bodywork, causing the ACO to change the rules for the upcoming 2010 season.

The German Modding Team is working on bringing the current VLN season to GTR2, adding the spectacular mix of touring and GT cars that race on the Nürburgring Nordschleife to the simulation.

The newest previews show the recently finished Porsche 997 GT3 Cup S model in the colors of Manthey Racing and Mamerow Racing. Racing in the SP9 class for cars built to the FIA GT3 regulations, the Cup S clinched several overall wins during last year’s VLN season.

 

StreetSim Development have released their maiden mod for GTR2, bringing the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SV to the simulation.

The LP 670-4 SV is a highly-tuned version of Lamborghini’s Murcielago model. The car makes extensive usage of carbon fibre to reduce weight, helping it to sprint from 0-100 in just 3.2 seconds. It’s powered by a 661hp V12 engine, bringing the car to a top speed of 342 kph.

Two newly-released renders show the brand-new VW Scirocco GT24 model created by Simulationsfanatiker. The Scirocco GT24 made it’s debut at the 2008 Nürburgring 24 Hour race, being driven by such racing legends as Hans-Joachim Stuck and Carlos Sainz.

 

NeelJ is working on bringing the Canadian Mosport Raceway to GTR2. Based on a Nascar Racing 2003 version of the track, his version will be the best-looking creation of the Canadian track for any gMotor 2-based sim as you can see below.

Located north of Bowmanville, Ontario, Mosport is one of Canada’s most famous motorsport venues. The 4 kilometer track layout includes 10 turns and is one of the very few classical racetracks that remained almost completely unchanged over the years. The track has a rich history both in terms of Formula One and sports cars, hosting the Canadian Grand Prix until 1977 and still being a very active sports car racing venue today.

Fazerbox has released a new version of his Map Plugins for GTR2 & rFactor that enrich the simulations with a real-time track map, showing the position of all competitors on the circuit.

Powered by a 3.2 liter twin-turbo flat-six engine, the 911 GT1 was Porsche’s weapon of choice in the FIA GT Championship and the 1998 Le Mans 24 Hours which it won, driven by Alan McNish, Laurent Aiello and Stephane Ortelli.

Team BB has released a new version of their popular Super GT500 mod for GTR2 that brings Super GT cars from the 2005 to 2009 season to the simulation.

The new version comes in four parts and includes various bug fixes and adjustments.

The mod includes the most popular racing cars of Japan’s premier sports car racing series, including the Honda NSX, the Nissan GT-R and the Lexus SC430.
