CART Factor - New Previews

Originally started as FedEx CART 1998 Championship mod for rFactor, Racing Line Developments has renamed their project to CART Factor.
The mod will now include not just cars from 1998 but also from the 1997 and 1999 CART seasons, bringing some of the most exciting years in American open-wheel racing to rFactor. Below are a bunch of new, very impressive, previews for you to enjoy.
Those were the days that we had good tv coverage here in the UK and I would never miss a race!!

Now I await the replies from folk: “Why add 1997? Why not release 1998 first then bring out a 1997 update or patch?”

And since you’ve pre-empted the question, I’ll pre-answer it.. no release strategy has been determined as yet. But the 97 Reynards will be finished before, say, the 98 Penske just because it’s very similar to the 98 car and the 98 Reynard’s more complete than the Penske, etc.
The sole reason that the extra seasons, 1997 and 1999, were added to the plan is that they are the next logical step from the 98 stuff, given all the assets/content we’ve created already. If anything we’re being environmentally friendly by recycling… or something :razz:
Since we’re pre-empting replies, I’ll tackle another one - this is effectively V2 of the mod, it’s just V1 was never released. This development cycle only started in August :)

You can’t “pre-answer” :) That’s like answering before you answer.
Anyway, if this mod drives as good as it looks, we are in for a real treat! The cars look great.

These are not Indy Cars ;) These are CART Championship cars. This was the series Tony George left to form the Indy Racing League.
