Chris Sugg has released a first preview video of his Cadwell Park 2009 project for rFactor, taking us on a lap around the scratch-made British track.
Cadwell Park is a 3,477km racing circuit located near Louth in Lincolnshire. Opened in 1934, the main layout of the track consists of eleven turns, it’s location across a steep-sided valley gives the track a rather challenging layout with dips and crests.
Because of that, the track has been nicknamed mini-Nürburgring, even though the track only hosts club racing events these days.

The textures look way too saturated. Looks cartoonish. That’s not hard to fix though.
PS: have a look at VLM’s tracks for comparison.

That looks very good. I think it doesn’t need a lot of desaturation actually. Some natural looking gradients on some textures would solve any cartoonish look. Of course that would probably cause mapping nightmares with seams and visible tiling.
PS: Always go for your own style

Erm the grass textures that have actually been done look quite good rather than those which are just default with BTB.

Looks great. Not an easy track to do I would guess, with all the very steep gradient changes needed for a unique little track like this. I cant wait to take a caterham for a spin!
The colours look nice, Britain is a very green place at the this time of year!

Does anyone know what car he’s driving in the video? It looks like the BMW in the Historic GT & Touring Cars mod, but with a unique skin. If anyone can tell me, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
