C.A.R.S – New Audi R18 TDI Preview

Following the much-discussed first preview of the Audi R18 TDI Le Mans Prototype in C.A.R.S., Slightly Mad Studios have released a second high-resolution image of the Le Mans-winning car.

The car is shown in garage mode as Slightly Mad Studios are currently busy building up the gameplay graphics engine.

C.A.R.S., which stands for Community Assisted Race Sim, is a new project by Slightly Mad Studios that will allow sim racers to invest in an upcoming simulation title. In return, the investors will get to have a major say in the direction the title will be taking, get development builds and get to follow a completely transparent development process that shows the SMS team at work.

    May ask what your source is? Neither can I find anything about these screens on the SMS website, nor on the twitter account, and nothing on facebook. I am just curious where you got the information from? Thanks a lot. May possibly be that I did not search enough, though.

    There is no way my pc will be able to handle this game if it couoldnt handle nfss2 even in mid/low settings…but this shot looks great.

    That´s the same: more polygons, better texture resolution, more detailed environment. You will never see this on track.

    Screenshot/Render blah blah blah, honestly, who cares? Whatever it is, it looks fantastic. All i ask is that complimentary napkins are included with any future picture releases so that i can clean up the drool puddles on my desk. Thank you.

    We all approximately know what we can expect from rF2 or GTR3. I am looking forward to these games. But I am very unsure about C.A.R.S. so far…

    AFAIK the Forza franchise holds the ALMS license right now.

    I don’t mind current HW, I will replace my GTX275 by a GTX680 if C.A.R.S. keeps its promises. :)

    With DX11 tessellatoin, this kind of detail is possible in-game. Of course it will need high end hardware.

    Dont be so silly, sillyone. He never actually said what gtr3 was going to be like, more like speculating on what it will be like. Being that we all simrace and spend our time reading all these articles, i dont think it’s that far fetched to have expectations for upcoming sims.

    I do agree here. Lying about what?? So the level of detail in new sims should be toned down for the people that want to hang on to their dinosaurs?? Unfortunately, stuff evolves and if you dont evolve with it, you get left behind. You can get a decent amd hex core pc with 8 gigs of ram and an hd5770 for about 800 bucks. Thats really not that bad.
