Yesterday, I posted a story on the Peugeot 406 preview of MMG’s British Touring Car Championship mod for GTR Evolution, incorrectly claiming that this was the first preview to be released since the mod announcement in September.
That wasn’t true as MMG’s Petros Mak had released the following previews of the Nissan Primera model back in April, I just didn’t spot them then and neither seem to have most people.
The mod will bring the 1998 season of the popular touring car series to GTR Evolution, a season that is considered to be among the finest in history as notable manufacturers such as Honda, Peugeot, Ford, Volvo & Nissan fought for the title. The mod will feature an extensive damage model with many removable parts, certainly a good thing to have when it comes to world-class touring car racing.

Think Title should be 1998 not 88.
Nice to see more of this nice mod.

Im one of the people who wants this mod more than anything in the world but im afraid unless they change the name of it then I can see there being some sort of legal action against MMG. This is whats happened with most BTCC Mods over the past few years. As long as MMG dont use the BTCC name or logo’s then they’ll be fine as BTCC dont own the rights to the cars or liveries.

1998 was a good season, nice close racing and good cars.

So, this means Formula 1 08′ is getting cancelled or delayed?
You guys already announced so much, would it be wrong to ask what are your priorities?

No the Formula 1 08 mod is being worked on by a different part of MMG. They have more than one modding team.

This is quite an ambitious project but there are many ex-TOCA 2 fans out there so it will be popular. The late 90s were a golden age of BTCC and 98 was one of the best years. My personal favourite was 96 though, as you would get the option of RWD and 4WD in addition to the usual FWD.

If they do it right and if there will be a league I might get back to Race07.
