There’ll always be some sort of conspiracy theories around things people care about. Not every person, or site, is required or even expected to make sure they give equal exposure to everyone and everything. Sites and blogs like VirtualR are in fact private, but aimed for all of us (simracers) to enjoy. Of course rFactorcentral is expected to remain impartial or give even exposure if deciding to promote the competing videos. Of course the creators of the videos can post them on rFC and anywhere else for all of to see. If you really want to go further you could blame 6e66o himself for making his video public. But as Montoya pointed out the winner is not decided by voted, but by a panel. Which I had forgotten actually. And this fact makes this whole discussion pointless :D

This reminded me of a nice little line in the latest BSG episode by Saul Tigh:
“You point a finger back far enough and some germ gets blamed for splitting in two.”

Not the most fitting quote for this, but it’s still worth remembering.

First of all, I posted 6e66o’s vid for the simple reason that it’s excellent work – And if you check out the comments here or on Youtube, you´ll see that other people will agree.

Second, the rFactorcentral video competition is not judged by votes so how will “hype” help this video? You really think whoever judges this competition gives anything about what’s on VirtualR? If they would, they wouldn’t be good judges.

This site is meant to serve the sim racing community and if somebody makes a great video to replace rFactor’s dull one it deserves to be shared.

Plus, just like with mods, I can only post what I find. 6e66o runs a good blog which certainly helps him spreading the word on his work. I simply don’t have the time to dig Youtube hours a day to find other videos. Just like with the mod news, I´ll post what’s available.

And last, just to point out, the winning videos will of course be shown here – Regardles of who made them.

And keep in mind “best” in this case is a matter of opinion, not an inarguable fact ;)

I based my opinion on 6e66o’s video on all the other videos, especially simracing ones, that I’ve seen in my life. And based on that this one is one of the best for sure. It’s not perfect, as an artists I don’t believe in such thing. There’s always room for improvement, otherwise if you think you’ve done something perfect then you might as well go do something else the rest of your life ;)
