[dd]Baule has released an rFactor version of the Circuit de Catalunya Barcelona, bringing the popular Spanish track from Simbin’s GTR2 to the simulation. The track is much more than a straight conversion and has been equipped with lots of new features as listed below.
Features:
- Grand Prix- and National layout
- full working start- and pitlights
- full working scoretower
- nightlights
- new CAM and AIW
- lots of graphical tweaks
- some new textures
- sky textures by 6e66o
- loading screen by Malvictis
Located north of Barcelona, the 4.6 kilometer Circuit de Catalunya is a popular race track, hosting the Spanish Formula One Grand Prix as well as several other popular racing series.
Since this track is a conversion of GTR2, the release is equipped with a check to make sure you own a legal version of Simbin’s GT simulation. If you don’t, you won’t be able to use this track.

gr8 news!
EDIT.
Ok not so great as you need the disc version of GTR2 to install this thing. I got the downloaded version of GTR 2 and it won’t work with that!
BAD NEWS!

Is it the modern layout or the old one?

Except when you’re like Felipe above.
I’d be screwed. I have no earthly idea where my GTR2 disk is.

What a pleasant surprise! Another keeper’ for sure.
But what I really would like to see in these overhauled conversions is new track bump modelling, with polygons… but maybe that’s asking too much, I dunno how difficult that kind of detailed editing is.

Anyone installed it yet? Is it the modern layout? Should I be digging for my GTR2?

There is not a racing sim that can not be bought for cheap on the net. Except for Nascar 2003 and Grand Prix 4. All others are dirt cheap. Fixing to try this track out now.

“- full working scoretower”
By the way, cool feature, very pleased with it. SimBin’s tower doesn’t work, much to my surprise
Wasn’t there an update for iRacing recently that enhanced with working score tower?

Thanks for the track! Too bad it has the old La Caixa corner.
Would love to use this track with CTDP 2006 if it had the new La Caixa corner.

Regarding that score tower, what’s that top display supposed to show? Time? If so, why isn’t it showing it? :P

Not time but but the number of the vehicles in running/qually order.

Thanks a lot for this one! Yes, it has the old La Caixa. Then it must be a pre-2004 layout. Wouldn’t have expected this for a GTR2 track.

Think about GTR2 release date and then you’ll find out why it’s that way. It may not seem, but GTR2 definitely is old.

The FIA GT last raced at Barcelona in 2003 and as such, the layout included in GTR2 is the one that was used in 2003.
Mystery solved

How is that a problem? Just rename one of your files.
There is a solution to every problem, provided you use that thing on top of your shoulders.

It’s something that shouldn’t happen, anyway: an add-on content should never modify default files.

Hmmm that tower is working on mine. I just ran a race and on the replay it was updating.
I agree that it shouldn’t be named the same as the original Barcelona. They should fix that. Nicely done track though. Prefer the newer layout though as its more current.

Completely agree… Even if this is a better track than the orig ISI one… It shouldn’t overwrite/modify orig files. A lot of people use the default ISI Barca still…
