I love AutoSimSport and this looks like a good issue (which will draw a small donation from me – seems they don’t get many). I glanced at the Kaemmer interview, and though I can be a bit harsh on him, I really love what he said about tires. Not being an Alien, god forbid someone like me comment that tires don’t really reflect real world heat/wear characteristics. Well, at least in this interview, Kaemmer indicates the same. Perhaps this last seasons SM tire update is an insight into all of this (the interview was from August).

I don’t agree with the author’s comment that the improved tires would “bring aliens back to earth”. Personally, i think that whatever factor it may slow them down by – it will correspondingly slow the rest of us down by as much or greater (aliens being the *real* hot shoes we all know – not some of the guys who are ‘fast’ in one car, mediocre in all others).

Great iRacing interview with Kaemmer and team. iRacing is trying to promote and link real racing with sim racing in a way that helps sim racing’s reputation as an industry. It’s good for all of us who love sim racing.

I’m looking forward to the 10 or more European tracks they spoke about and the next update to the tire model. Those beginner training videos should be really helpful too. Especially, since iRacing is attempting to bring real world race fans into sim racing. They’ll need some hand holding.

Nice article on Forza 3 as well. It’s raised the bar for console sims. GT5 has some competition. It will be interesting to see how that all plays out, though I’ll be on the sidelines.

The article on Shift is worth the price of admission. Simon Croft is a very funny guy and gives some real belly bumpers. One of these mags is worth 10 SRT episodes. So give a donation. I will after work.

Excellent issue! The review of NFS Shift is epic. Also very good reviews of Fanatec Turbo S wheel, Forza 3, Supercar Challenge and Superleague Formula.
In addition there are interesting interviews with Doug Arnao and Eero Piitulainen from SMS, with Dan Greenawalt from Turn 10, with Dave Kaemmer from iRacing and much, much more.

Also in this issue they’ve chosen Best Mod, Best Sim Car and Best Simulation of the Year.

So it is well worth the read, guys.

Good interview with Agustin haahah :sd:

The best mod is Endurance Series?!??!?!?! Ok, it’s a good mod, but it lacks a lot to live up to CART Factor especially in the physics…
CART Factor with the GP79 and HistorX are by far the best mods for rFactor, I don´t understand how they can overlook that job…

F1Racer: thanks for all the spoilers, logos.Brilliant.

Sorry to spoil this for you, F1Racer. It wasn’t my intention. I thought this excellent issue deserved more attention from the sim community. That’s why I posted this info – to spark interest for it.
It’s just a tiny bit of what this issue includes.

If you think it’s too much, I could edit the post of course.
